An Oklahoma casino took advantage of a demolition blunder in Dallas and used it as a genius marketing opportunity.

The Affiliated Computer Services building in Dallas was set to be demolished Tuesday, but when the crew failed to bring the entire building down in one shot, it left the building tilted to one side and dubbed the “Leaning Tower of Dallas.” It has become a temporary landmark, tourist attraction, and social media sensation until the demolition is finished in the coming weeks.

According to a local Dallas NBC affiliate, Choctaw Casino, one of the closet casinos to Dallas, used the building as a billboard. Tuesday evening, an advertisement popped up for the casino that read “Have Better Luck With Us” with the Choctaw logo underneath the slogan.

As casino gaming becomes more mainstream, thanks in large part to the expansion of sports betting around the country, advertising casinos to mass audiences became much more acceptable.

Choctaw announced a partnership with Major League Baseball’s Texas Rangers in 2019 that saw them become the “Official Casino and Resort of the Texas Rangers,” while its main competition, WinStar World Casino, partnered with the Dallas Cowboys.

Choctaw is home to some of the biggest tournament series in the country. In 2015, they set the World Series of Poker Circuit record for largest field size in the history of the tour, and consistently holds one of the biggest main events on the Circuit. They also host a WPT main tour stop.
