According to police, Raskin is accused of possessing about 360 pounds of marijuana, worth more than $500,000 on the black market. Police announced the arrest late last week.

In addition to the pot, Raskin, 49, allegedly was found with other drug paraphernalia and a loaded shotgun. He has been charged with a slew of crimes, including possession of marijuana. Most of the charges are felonies. Police said the marijuana seizure is considered to be one of the largest in Nassau County history.

“With this seizure of more than 350 pounds of marijuana and huge quantities of hash oils, this alleged dealer’s time living the high life selling drugs is over,” Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas boasted in the news release.

Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder called Raskin a “dangerous individual.” Despite the medicinal benefits of the plant and its legalization in many states, Ryder said that marijuana in the hands of local residents was “placing them at risk.”

Police said that for “several years” Raskin supplied large quantities of marijuana to the Baltimore area. He allegedly was selling the plant at $1,400 per pound.

In addition to seizing the marijuana, hash oil and the shotgun, police said they confiscated a taser and “paperwork documenting payments and prices for the drug products.” Additionally, police seized a high-end SUV, a 2016 Chevrolet Corvette, $140,000 in cash and “high-end artwork believed to be worth more than $100,000.”
