There is now a three-way tie for second place on the Triton Super High Roller Series titles leaderboard. Daniel Dvoress became the latest player to hit the seven-wins mark on the high-stakes tour, emerging victorious in the $30,000 no-limit hold’em eight-max event at the ongoing Triton Jeju II stop with his latest trident trophy. Dvoress defeated a field of 135 entries to earn $942,000 and the hardware. Only 12-time Triton winner Jason Koon has more wins than Dvoress and his fellow seven-time champions Michael Watson and Matthias Eibinger.
The 38-year-old Canadian poker pro came into the year with just two Triton titles to his name, but has been on a tear throughout 2026. He earned his third in a $100,000 buy-in event at the Spring running of the Jeju festival at Les A Casino. Then, at Triton Montenegro, he caught fire. He won three events in the span of that single series, including the $100,000 pot-limit Omaha main event, accumulating over $3.2 million across his trio of victories.
“Here is the first live poker that I’ve played since Montenegro, and I was like, ‘Can I keep the momentum going?'” Dvoress told Triton staff. “And apparently, yes.”
The Mississauga, Ontario resident now boasts over $59.3 million in career cashes with this most recent visit to the winner’s circle. He now sits just outside of the top ten on poker’s all-time money list. He trails tenth-ranked Daniel Negreanu by just over $592,000.
In addition to the money and the trophy, Dvoress also received 924 Card Player Player of the Year points for the win. He now has seven titles from 11 final-table finishes on the year. With 5,475 points and over $7.2 million in POY earnings, he is now ranked 10th in the overall standings presented by CoinPoker.
Thinning The Field
Only the top 23 finishers secured a share of the $4,050,000 prize pool in this event, with notables like Khoa Anh Ngo (23rd), Artur Martirosian (22nd), Joao Simao (18th), Nick Petrangelo (14th), Danny Tang (13th), Samuel Mullur (12th), Ren Lin (10th), and Alex Kulev (9th) running deep.

Dvoress held the chip lead when the official final table was set. He added to his stack by eliminating Benjamin Tollerene (8th – $118,000), with pocket queens holding against A-J suited. Pocket queens also won the next knockout hand, as first-ever female Triton champion Xuan Liu ended Lun Loon’s run. Loon was unable to come from behind with A♥9♦ and was sent packing in seventh place ($160,000).
Jingyao Yan (6th – $217,000) got the last of his stack in with the best hand, but his A♠K♣ failed to hold against Dvoress’ A♣10♥, with a ten on the turn flipping the script and a blank river sealing Yan’s fate.
A classic race spelled the end of Stephen Chidwick’s tournament. The three-time Triton winner was at risk with A♠K♦ flipping against J♥J♣ for Gytis Lazauninkas. The Lithuanian improved to a set of jacks on the end to eliminate Chidwick in fifth place ($279,000). The British superstar surpassed $80 million in earnings with this score, becoming just the second player in poker history to do so. With $80,243,075 in career cashes, he sits behind only Bryn Kenney ($92,002,616) on the career earnings leaderboard.
Setting A Historic Rematch
Lin Meng-Ling (4th – $348,000) was the next to hit the rail. Her pocket nines were outflopped by the K-8 suited of Dvoress, who spiked a king and held from there to narrow the field to three.
Lazauninkas’ final stand pitted his pocket queens against the A-10 suited of a surging Dvoress. As with Lin, Dvoress was able to pair his overcard on the flop to take a lead. Blanks on the turn and river saw Lazauninkas knocked out in third place. This $424,000 payout was his largest yet on the live circuit.
With that, Dvoress took roughly a 4.5:1 chip lead into heads-up play with Liu. This was the second time the two Canadians had squared off for a Triton title, making them the first two players in the tour’s history to battle heads-up for a title multiple times. Previously, Liu defeated Dvoress heads-up to win $860,000 last spring in Montenegro.
This time around, Dvoress needed only a single hand to close out the win. The chips went in preflop with 3♠3♣ for Dvoress and K♥Q♠ for Liu. The board ran out J♥4♦2♣A♠5♥ to give Dvoress the wheel and the pot. Liu settled for $638,000 as the runner-up. This was the second-largest score of her career.
