Poker star Mike Matusow will see his 2012 autobiography “Check-Raising the Devil” made into a motion picture, Variety reported Monday.

Matusow’s book details his struggles on and off the felt, which include drug addiction, going to prison and depression. Matusow is a four-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner.

Matusow has more than $8.5 million in career tournament earnings.

Last summer, Matusow chatted with Card Player about his mental recovery from the Full Tilt Poker scandal. Matusow was once a sponsored pro for the company.

Matusow’s movie will be made by a production company with the 1984 Professional Defense Contractors. IMDB lists 10 films in its catalog.

Yuck, I got suckered into buying and reading his book. He is just full of excuses and looking for pity. He has been given so much and deserves so little.

That book is a great read. And should make a great movie.
To all you guys bashing Mike, I don't know what your problem is. The guy is brutally honest about his issues, which stemmed mostly from an emotional disorder. He cleaned up his act, got help, and has also done a lot for poker. Meanwhile, all you guys writing crap in the message boards are a bunch of nobodys compared to Mike.

P.S.: He's a much better player than over-rated donks like Negreanu and Hansen.

P.S.S. You just lost what little cred you may have had before your last statement.

Hey Henny, Hansen is down $19 million on FT. As for Negreanu, I'll grant you that he is excellent at tournaments, but is a well known donk at cash games. He demonstrated that repeatedly on High Stakes Poker.
