I have looked into Titan, but from every account I can find it pulled out of the US in 2006... Did they decide to come back and not tell anyone? I would love to open an account there if it is even possible. Does anybody have more information? I don't want to try and sign up if they are just going to shoot me down.

Also, online poker is not illegal. Fraud is illegal. Those sites seem to have done some sketchy things, and they very well might have. We shall see. In the mean time this all sucks.

Bodog isn't mentioned? I'm assuming it's an "insufficient kickback" issue, 'cause otherwise it's just weird. And...Titan's site says it w/d from the US in 2006.

Who "writes" this junk?

Bodog is #1 on the list....#1...maybe read something before commenting. Also, there is no need to put "quotes" around every other "word" you "write"

Article was edited after I commented. Quotes are there for a reason native speakers/readers will probably understand.

Are you kidding me? An untold number of US players will likely never get their money back from Full Tilt, Poker Stars, etc., and youre advertising and encouraging players to deposit on other websites in spite of the current indictments? Who says this is just the first shoe to drop? A player has to be nuts to deposit money with any website.

Really? Where did you get this info from about "never get their money back"? Sounds like fearmongering to me. All accounts out there say that the monies are safe and will be returned eventually. Today's news of PS and FTP regaining their domain names is supposed to expedite the process.

That being said, I agree with your basic point: why deposit $$$ anywhere else if you're going to get caught up with the same issues.

Y ou seem to comment on the negative side of others comments. I'm sure the community would appreciate your idiotic ,mindless thoughts of anything other than being stable enough to call it logic, to just exclude yourself from even trying prove how smart you are. Respect the fact that online poker isn't illegal, but you seem to be confused about what is really going on here. Maybe you just don't want to read and just come up with your own conclusions.

Yea man, online sucks! Multi-tabling and all of this software that is just a sliver of a millimeter away from cheating cheapens the game of poker. There is no way to keep 10 year old kids off these sites and this breaks down the credibility of the game.

Let's meet in the casino, where we can at least see them sweat when my adversary cannot play well because he has no "HUD" to look at and will actually have to play with me for a while before he can decide if I have an aggression factor at all. This will level the field...

Already posted that I confirmed Titan Poker is not accepting U.S. players. If you try to sign up, the U.S. is not in the list of allowable countries.

My previous comment was deleted. Maybe because I suggested that this article be pulled from the site? Which is still a good idea.

We'll see how long this one lasts. My opinion of Card Player has plummeted.

Oh...I also pointed out that Card Player's site doesn't belong on the list. You can't play for real money. And I said that Full Tilt still allows play for, uh, play money. So, logically...this is just a silly waste of electrons.

Bodog is #1 on the list, albeit without a nice little writeup. So, unless it was added later as an afterthought, it has always been there.

Sheesh. It was added later. Titan Poker was #1 on the original list.

NICE!!! Why in the world would anybody even attempt to deposit money onto any of theses sites..Let's say you get money on one of these sites(illegally BTW) and then win something--You really think a deposit is gonna be a reality, think again. Good job CardPlayer-why dont you find a solution, instead of trying to make some cash off your pathetic affiliate scams...

Yeah don't deal with sportsbook.com they took about 45 days to mail me a $900 check. I cashed $1,000 in the first tourny I ever played on there and then never played on that site again after how much time it took to process a payout. They claimed they were in the process of a software change and that's why it took so long to mail me a check.

Know who the real enemy is in all this:

"Most people reading this don’t know much about how antagonistic the NFL has been toward the poker world. The NFL was a strong supporter of the UIGEA back in late 2006, because of the organization’s misdirected belief that the NFL would be damaged by online gambling. But the NFL went far further in trying to stifle other people’s interests.

Remember when President George W. Bush signed the regulations that would implement the UIGEA, during the lame-duck session of December, 2008? When it came time to draw up the rules that would implement the UIGEA, the task was done in large part by former NFL lobbyist William Wichtman, who had been paid some $2.8 million by the NFL from 2004-08 to lobby on the NFL’s behalf against various gambling concerns. Yes, it was the NFL that played a large role in making active the ridiculous banking rules that now cause headaches for many online poker players. They also worked hard to defeat subsequent regulatory measures introduced by Barney Frank and others in the UIGEA’s miserable wake."

Yes - your beloved NFL is behind all your troubles...

I deposited 50 bucks at Cake Poker on sunday night. Took maybe 30 minutes and was so easy. I used the "UseMyWallet" option. I play small stakes so this will work for me. Played at Players Only in the past when it was part of the cake network. Never had a problem depositing or withdrawing. Made several withdrawals. You are allowed 1 per calendar month for free. Thier bonuses are much better than stars. They pay 6 cents for each FPP vs. 1.3 cents at stars. Software isnt quite as good but acceptable. Biggest downside is there isnt many players. You see the same players again and again. I'm still playing. Give Cake Poker a try.

I have heard this and that regarding the "legality" of playing online poker since GWB gave us the gift of the UIGEA. The travesty of it all was it scared away Partypoker. I know some reading this play for a living and I can understand your angst. Personally I played for fun. I have heard that some states have passed legislation making illegal to play if you are a resident period. All in all I never trusted the sites in the first place but that is beside the point. Now the feds are involved (only to wager a tax on it) I would choose to error on the side of caution and not be involved. There are plenty of casinos, Elks and Moose lodges who run legal charity games for me to seek my entertainment. For those who play for a living, my advice is to move to vegas and rent a house with a few guys/gals. $1000 a month is only a few bets for you guys! I am gonna stick to my 1-2 live game and local touneys.
