Isaac Haxton Beats Isildur1 in Superstar Showdown

2,500-Hand Match Ends with Haxton Up $40,000

Isaac HaxtonOn Sunday, Isaac “philivey2694” Haxton took Isildur1 for about $40,000 in the PokerStars SuperStar Showdown

The new member of Team PokerStars Pro faced Haxton in the promotion’s first heads-up match. The duo played 2,500 hands across four tables of $50-$100 no-limit hold’em, and each player had a bankroll of $150,000 for the contest.

The largest pot of the match was $44,000, and was won by Haxton. There were multiple lead changes in the battle, however Haxton was able to pull away toward the end.

match was closer than the result. stakes are too low, raises/bets are just not respected the way they would be in higher stakes. The reason Isildur got to this stage were beating/losing million dollars to the best players in the world. Not a mini grind for 150k max. Stars is smart for signing him and promoting these matches as a whole but in actuality the buzz will only be temporary. Isildur will either get beaten often and the value of the match loses luster or full tilt will counter with something similar if it hasn't already.
