DOYLEISM OF THE DAY:“Nobody’s perfect, but if you aim for perfect, it will usually end up pretty good”

The WPT tournament is over with Antonio Esfandiari coming out on top. He played well the entire tournament and is a worthy champion. I made it to the last two tables but was completely card dead the last day. Oh well, I played harder than I have in a long time.

I got a nice compliment on the Brunson 10 from Jeff Schulman from Card Player. We were in valet picking our cars after the second day and he asked “where did you get those kids? They are really good.”  I’ve got to agree with Jeff, they are all great players and on top of that they are great guys. They have totally impressed me!

After I busted out of the Tournament I went to the cash games in  Bobby’s Room and played 11 more hours. The dealer asked me how and why do I still play like that. The answer is simply, I love poker and I hope to play until I pass on. I try to slow down and can’t seems like I have just one speed, fast forwards.

The internet poker bill is getting lots of attention. After the Las Vegas Sun reported Harry Reid told them the bill was dead, it has resurfaced and is going to be voted on shortly. A big sticky point is the 15 month ban on anyone who takes U.S. players won’t be granted a license. We will have to wait and see but at least it raises awareness of the possibility of regulated internet poker.

Doyle- you are in favor of regulating online poker even though it means a 15 month prison sentence for your online room?

I won't put it as uncivilly as Freddy but why does Cardplayer allow Dusty Schmidt a platform to blatantly hawk his book here and allow him the right to not have feed back. Anyone who has read most of his blogs here would see a huge inconsistency from post to post in the facts he states. In his early posts while trying to entice people to deposit money on line he stated he deposited 1k and never looked back. Now he states he struggled for the 1st 3 million hands not making a profit in his book. Which was it. He seems to make the facts fit what ever he is selling today. Either allow people to repudiate what he says or shut him down.

What on Earth does Dusty Schmidt have to do with Doyle?

Nothing. But since Cardplayer allows Dusty to post the facts according to Dusty. And then allows him to negate any feedback to what he says people will post where they can. Maybe if they want to allow the bloggers the right to deny feedback they should set up a separate comments page. I don't think posters should be allowed to post some of the really negative trash that shows up here[personal attacks] but Cardplayer should not be giving a free ride to their bloggers either.

I have zero problem with Dusty writing a book with his way of playing poker, but its a a completely different story for him to rip and call out hellmuth for the way he plays and that the game has 'passed him by' but then uses his name in the title of his book to obviously grab ppls attention and use hellmuths name as a way of tryin to sell his book. Its a joke.

I have to agree that Leatherass has used Hellmuth name in trying to sale his book. And he definitely uses Card Player Blog as a plug and self advertising. Although I think Hellmuth book is not good, I do think that he's an infinitely better player than Leatherass. Sure Hellmuth isn't playing his best, and he probably need to up his game and fixes his leaks. But still, he's still far better than Leatherass. I would love to see Hellmuth beat the donkey out of Leatherass heads up on TV. I'll pay $50 to see every hand play between them. My only issues with Leatherass is that he's not even good. May be he's better than all recreational players, but he's just a regular sized fish at 10/20 tables or whatever low limits he plays. And he dare to call out Hellmuth. To simply put it, it's like a 1st degree black belt calling out and saying that the 5th degree black belt sucks. I hope no one will buy into his nonsense and support his book or whatever he tries to sale

Wow get a life guys... It's just business. Not sure how you can hate on somebody you've never met or prob never even seen play. Take a few deep breathes and try to let a little positive energy in there
