I am taking today off and will play tomorrow’s shootout, event #41 at the WSOP. Speaking of time off, when the WSOP ends I am going to take about a month off, in fact the next big event I am playing is the WPT 10k event in Cyprus in early September. I have never been there before but it’s supposed to be a great resort and Jack McClelland, who heads up the Bellagio’s tournaments will be there running things along with his outstanding staff. It will feature the same great main event structures that WPT events at the Bellagio have. If that’s not enough, the event is being sponsored by Full Tilt Poker, and I believe there will be online satellites. They are offering all inclusive packages, airfare, hotel, food + the 10k buy for a heavily discounted price. If you are interested you can email Eva: miss.whateva@yahoo.com and online you can go to: www.texasholdemerit.com .

Hope to see you there.

Did Dutch Boyd ever pay hundreds or thousands of players the money he owes them from PokerSpot?

So you're saying if you lose a bet to somebody that owes other people money, you shouldn't have to pay them? I don't understand the reasoning behind the response.

I don't care who you are or where you're from, you don't welch on a bet with somebody.

I live in North Cyprus now. Merit is indeed an awesome resort. They do some decent regular tournaments, so it should be interesting to see how they deal with a much bigger one.

North Cyprus is not a country -- WPT should do their research, they are hosting a tournament in a place that is currently occupied by another country. I'm all for bringing global attention to Cyprus, and poker to Cyprus (for that matter), however a company as well-known as the WPT should not support the occupied northern territory of Cyprus. How can you host a tournament where Cypriots cannot participate???
