Poker pro and sports card vendor Jared Bleznick recently cashed in big on the sale of a rare basketball card. The New York native pocketed $500,000 on the sale.
Bleznick purchased a 2023-2024 Topps Chrome Superfractor rookie Victor Wembanyama card for $1 million. He turned around and sold the same card for $1.5 million. The card is one of one and features an autograph from the San Antonio Spurs star center.
Bleznick discussed the sale during a video on his Instagram channel with WWE wrestler The Miz, who was in Las Vegas for Wrestlemania. Beznick uses the channel to “break” open card boxes, revealing cards that are sold to viewers.
This time, however, after revealing the Wembanyama, Bleznick said he would pay $1 million to the buyer of the card. That turned out to be a wise investment, as he flipped it soon after for a tidy profit.
“I sold the card for $1.5 million a couple weeks ago,” Bleznick said to The Miz.
After The Miz poked some fun at Bleznick for his messy studio and poor dress, the poker pro added for viewers: “The Miz clearly doesn’t understand the business of sports cards. Guys, it’s a great business, you all know that, The Miz doesn’t.”
Wembanyama Sale Added To Bleznick’s Gambling Success
Wembanyama became the league’s first unanimous Defensive Player of the Year this week. He’s also a finalist for league MVP, averaging 25 points per game, 11.5 rebounds, and 3.1 blocks. His cards have been hot commodities in recent years, with rarities fetching six-figure auction sums.
Bleznick’s card was the first to contain the French superstar’s signature. He sold it at an auction. The card is unlicensed, however, as Topps does not own the rights to official NBA cards.
Bleznick owns Blez Sports in Las Vegas and streams box breaks on his YouTube channel daily. At the poker tables, he has $9.7 million in tournament winnings, including winning a World Series of Poker bracelet in 2024. Originally from Roslyn, NY, Bleznick took down the $50,000 high roller for more than $2 million.
Sports Cards Becoming More Popular Among Poker Players
In California, there are a series of lawsuits accusing the card website Whatnot of engaging in illegal gambling. The plaintiffs allege they became addicted to the site’s lottery-style card breaks and are seeking restitution, warnings on future breaks, spending limits, punitive damages, and a declaration that the activities are unlawful.
In 2025, poker pros Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, and Dan Weinman were featured on sports cards after Leaf and Poker Royalty partnered on the first set of trading cards to feature poker players in more than a decade.
Greg Merson, winner of the 21012 WSOP main event, also recently spoke about his own love of sports cards on the Table 1 podcast.
