Jack McClelland Tries Something New -- Hand-for-Hand Play
Tournament Director Jack McClelland stops play with about ten minutes left to try something new. Since many players often stall at the end of the day (trying to survive into the next day), McClelland is stopping the clock and draws a card from the deck to determine the number of hands that will be played at each table. He pulls a six, so each table will play six more hands and then stop for the day.
McClelland says if this goes over well, it was his idea. But if it doesn't, then it was Barry Greenstein's idea.

Player of the Year Contender Michael Gracz Takes a Hit
With the board showing Jd-6d-3s-Qs-2h on the river, the player in Seat 6 moves all in, and Michael Gracz calls with Qh-Jh (top two pair). His opponent claps his hands in excitement as he shows 5c-4c for a six-high straight -- the nuts. Gracz ships over $100,000 chips, and he is now down to about $84,000 in chips.
Gracz is one of three players remaining who are still in contention for Card Player's prestigious Player of the Year award.
