To determine the final number of hands per table, Bob Stupak was called in to draw a card between three and eight. After picking up a five, the players finished out the required number of hands before bagging and tagging their chips for the night.

Jon Aguiar wasn't the only one with the fortune to double up late on day 2. Moments after the Aguiar-Bueno clash, Jennifer Tilly was all-in with pocket aces against the pocket kings of serial min-casher Nikolay Evdakov. The board brought no salvation for Evdakov and he walked away from the Bellagio Cup IV with nothing, which should not faze him too much, as technically, $0 is the minimum amount you can cash for).

After the hand Tilly had a conversation with beau Phil Laak, seated at an adjacent table. After learning of the hand, Laak asked the crowd, "I want to know what technique she used to dodge a king."

Tilly is now up to 340,000.

With 25 minutes left to play on the day, Jon "FatalError" Aguiar doubled through Patrick Bueno.

Aguiar raised from late position and Bueno raised him. Aguiar moved over-the-top for an additional 35,000 and, after a few minutes of thought, the Frenchman made the call with 1010. Aguiar turned over AK and his hand turned from mere overcards to top-pair on the A74 flop. The turn and river were no help to Bueno, and Aguiar increased his stac to 90,000.

A good way to end the day.

A player limped from the cutoff and was raised by Michael “SirWatts” Watson from the button. Both the small blind and the cutoff called and the trio saw a flop. The flop was A84 and all three players checked. The turn was the 2 and the small blind checked. The cutoff fired for 30,000, about the size of the pot. As Watson deliberated, the cutoff rocked back and forth in his chair, occasionally straining to see Watson’s stack. After a couple minutes of thought, Watson moved all-in for 87,200 total. The small folded and the cutoff called.

Watson’s hand was good, and it held up when another 2 came off on the river. That hand brings “SirWatts” up to about 200,000.

The players just finished enjoying their final 15-minute break of the evening.

Except for Steve "gboro780" Gross. About 3 minutes into the break he got into a massive hand with Philippe Rouas:

Gross raised to 4,300 from early position and action folded around to Rouas on the button. Rouas raised it to 14,300, but was met with resistance when Gross re-popped it to 43,000. Rouas went into the tank, ultimately opting to move all-in for 178,500. Gross snap-called and showed KK against the QQ of Philippe Rouas.

The door card was the Q and the rest of the board (62104) offered no help. The double up boosts Rouas all the way up to 400,000. Gross was left with only 61,000 before the break.

Blinds are now 1,000/2,000-300 for the 157 remaining players.

So far today, Gavin Smith has been chipping up, (he's sitting with 300,000) and prop betting relentlessly. He started the day by betting with Adam Katz on whether or not he could hit Bryan Devonshire in the head from across the room with a wad of paper.

He also bet with Scott Clements on a replay of last year's home run derby on random pitches. He currently has a bet with Peter Jetten on who will win a showdown between Ryan Braun and Josh Hamilton. (Jetten easily won)

During the break, our cameras caught Gavin in another prop bet, this one documenting as he attempted to shove 15 marshmellows in his mouth at once.

With the board showing 109826, Gabe Thaler was faced with a 30,000 bet from his opponent. Thaler stared down the player two seats to his left and tried to talk himself through the hand. Eventually Thaler decided to lay down his hand. His opponent quietly mucked his hand face down... until Scotty Nguyen spoke up, "Show the bluff. It's good for the game!" With that, the player calmly turned his hand over, showing KQ.

"That don't bother me kid," replied Thaler, who is now at about 160,000








 

We've lost three tables here in the Fontana Lounge and the tournament clock currently reads 187 players.

Javed Abrahams still leads the way with over 520,000. He is followed by Marco Johnson who is sitting with about 410,000.

Todd Brunson just managed to pick up aces at an opportune time to double through Mike Sica. Despite a king on the flop, Sica's ace-king could not overcome the rockets, and Brunson is propelled to nearly 200,000
