A $300 Donation Is All that's Needed to Play

Jennifer Harman will take a break from playing in the "big game" to play for a "big cause" on Friday, April 20, when she hosts a charity poker tournament for the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (S.P.C.A.) at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Players who plan to attend include Marcel Luske, Carlos Mortensen, Doyle Brunson, Todd Brunson, Howard Lederer, and David Benyamine.

The tournament donation for a seat is $300, with optional $200 re-donation or add-a-donation for more chips, and will be available until the end of the third round. All proceeds will go directly to the S.P.C.A.

In addition to the tournament prize pool going to charity, there will also be a live auction.

Many professional poker players have donated personal belongings to be included in the auction. For example, Robert Williamson III will be auctioning off his "lucky socks," the same pair he attributed his first-place finish to in the Trent Tucker's Hoopology Celebrity Charity poker tournament during the NBA All-Star weekend in Las Vegas. Along with Williamson, Daniel Negreanu will host the live auction. A silent auction will also take place during the event.

This event is scheduled on the eve of the World Poker Tour 's $25,000 buy-in championship at Bellagio. For more information on the charity tournament, contact the Caesars poker room.

Not complaing, just seeking clarification. It struck me as strange. It's a good cause and I applaude the pros and anyone else who takes the time for it. Settle down. :)

There is a tentative prize pool, but the information cannot be released yet. I didn't want to wait for it to post the story. The information will be added later. Thanks for the comments.

there is a payout... that you will donate to the s.p.c.a. thats why it is called a charity event... Don't get me wrong there should be a first place prize donated by someone... and there probably will be... but the point is to donate to a good cause not give some get some...

So...there is NO tournament payout to players? What the? As cool as playing with these pros would be for only 300 bucks, it'd be nice to have a payout! A raffle? Something?
