Updates on Final Day (Jun 20, 07)

Chip Counts

The chip counts tab has been updated for the final six players during the break.  Play will resume shortly.

Break

Players will be on a 15-minute break.  When they return the blinds will be $2,000/$4,000 with a $500 ante.

A Tense Chop Chop

Dan Santoro raises to $8,000 and Uri Kadosh, Kevin Johnson and Gil Nagar make the call.  The flop comes J 10 5, and it is checked to Nadar who bets out $15,000.  Santoro immediately moves in and has Nagar slightly covered.  The others fold, leaving Nagar to a tough decision.  He agonizes over it for several minutes before making a crying call.  Nagar shows K-J and Santoro shows..... K-J.  Nagar breathes a sigh a relief before realizing he is freerolling with the K.  The board bricks out, however, and now the players can breathe again.

Craig Rice Eliminated 7th Place ($7,680)

Craig Rice is all in against Andrew Taylor.  Taylor barely has Rice out chipped in this blind vs. blind situation.  Rice has 7 4 and Taylor shows A K.  The board comes 9 6 2 K 8, and Rice is our seventh place finisher.

Chip Counts

Chip counts for the remaining seven players has been updated.  Click on the chip counts tab for more information.

Blake Buffington Eliminated 8th Place ($5,485)

Blake Buffington shoves for his last $24,000 in late position.  Uri Kadosh makes the call from the small blind showing 8 8.  Buffington has one over with Q 2.  The board comes A J 9 7 2, and Buffington is eliminated in eighth place.

Level Up

Players are on a quick 5-minute break while the tournament directors race off the $100 chips.  New blinds are $1,500/$3,000 with a $500 ante.

Bluffing And Singing

Despite the rule that once the players are in the money, Ipods can no longer be used, Anna Wroblewski is still using hers.  In fact, in a recent blind vs. blind confrontation, she spent the hand singing to the small blind, chip leader Uri Kadosh.  On the turn, Wroblewski bet at the pot, and then showed the bluff, singing the whole time.

Guiseppe D'Alessandro Eliminated 9th Place ($4,390)

Guiseppe D'Alessandro is all in against chip leader Uri Kadosh.  D'Alessandro shows 8 9 while Kadosh shows A K.  The board comes K 9 2 7 Q, and D'Alessandro is our ninth place finisher.

Daniel Santoro Doubles Up Early

Kevin Johnson limps in early position and so does Gil Nagar.  Daniel Santoro raises to $11,000.  Blake Buffington reraises all in for about $70,000.  It's folded around to Santoro who thinks for a few minutes before calling.  He says he's getting the right price in this top heavy tournament.  He shows 8 8, and Buffington shows K K.  The board comes Q 8 4 5 7, and Santoro flops a set to double through Buffington.
