Rutledge Finds a Dagger on the River

James Akenhead and Joe Rutledge got it all in preflop and they turn up their hands. Akenman held pocket aces and Rutledge showed down KJ. The board was dealt K945K and the miracle king on the river doubled up Rutledge to survive.

Perry FriedmanFerguson Takes a Hit

Ferguson raised to 170,000 preflop from the button and Coulthard made the call from the small blind on flop of J95. The turn was dealt 9 and both players checked. The river fell 6 and Coulthard moved all in. The decision to call would put all of Ferguson's chips into the middle, and he decided to fold.

Grant Hinkle Doubles Up

Grant Hinkle got all of his chips into the middle against Melvin Jones and they turned up their hands. Hinkle held A6 to Jone's KJ. The board ran out A93Q2 and Hinkle doubled up to survive.

Perry Friedman Eliminated in 11th Place ($52,022)

Perry Freidman moved all in preflop and Theo Tran made the call. Tran turned up pocket kings and Friedman revealed QJ. The board rolled out J52AK and Friedman was eliminated in 11th place. The final ten players will now combine at a final table of 10.

Chris Ferguson Doubles Up

Tran raised to 90,000 from middle position preflop and Ferguson moved all in. Coulthard made the call and Tran mucked. The final two players turned up their hands and Ferguson held pocket nines to Coulthard's AK. The board ran out J7656 and Ferguson doubled up to 1 million.

On a flop of KK8, Eric Hicks checked to Perry Friedman who bet 125,000. Hicks reraised all in and Friedman called. Hicks turned over JJ for two pair while Friedman showed A6 for the nut flush draw. The turn brought the 3, giving Friedman his flush and reducing Hicks down to four outs. The river was the A, eliminating Eric Hicks in 14th place ($41,296).

David Bach Doubles Through Theo Tran

David Bach got it all in before the flop and Theo Tran made the call. Tran had Bach covered. Bach turned over A8 while Tran showed 44. The board came AQ766, giving Bach top pair on the flop and the better two pair on the river to stay alive.

Joshua Engerdahl Eliminated in 13th Place ($41,296)

Joshua Engerdahl gets it all in with AJ against Melvin Jones’ AQ. Jones has Engerdahl slightly covered. The board came K84107, giving Jones the nut flush on the river. Joshua Engerdahl is eliminated in 13th place, earning $41,296. After the hand, Melvin Jones had roughly 1.5 million in chips.

Minh Nguyen Eliminated in 12th Place ($52,022)

Minh Nguyen came in for a raise and James Akenhead moved all in. Nguyen called and Akenhead had him covered. Nguyen showed AQ while Akenhead turned over QQ for the lead. The board came 77425, no help for Minh Nguyen who was eliminated in 12th place ($52,022). After the hand, Akenhead has roughly 1.6 million in chips.

Brandon Blake and Mike Ngo got all of their chips into the middle on a board of J653 and the crowd gasped as they flipped pocket sixes (Ngo) and pocket fives (Blake). The river rolled out the Q and Ngo had Blake covered by a hare to send him off to the rail in 17th place.

Frank Sinopoli Eliminated in 16th Place ($30,569)

The flop read K105 when Aaron Coulthard and Frank Sinopoli got all of their chips into the middle. Coulthard turned up 42 for a flopped flush and Sinopoli showed down Q3. The turn and river hit 610 and Sinopoli hit the rail in 16th place.

Round 1: Jesus vs. David Bach Round 2: Jesus vs. Minh Nguyen

David Bach raised 120,000 preflop and Chris Ferguson went into the tank. He asked for a count of Bach's remaining chips and he revealed that he had 132,000 left behind. Ferguson thought for a moment longer and mucked. On the very next hand Minh Bguyen made a reraise for 120,000 preflop and Ferguson went into the tank again. He mucked once more and his stack was looking quite low in chips with a stack under 300,000.

Jesus Doubles Up

A few hands later Ferguson moved the last of his chips (286,000) all in preflop on the button against Perry Friedman. They turned up their hands and Ferguson held AJ to Friedman's A10. The board rolled out K936K and Ferguson resurrected his stack to survive.

Theo TranTheo Wins a Big Hand

Theo Tran raised to 65,000 on the button and Joe Rutledge made the call from the small blind. The flop rolled out AA5 and Tran fired out 65,000. Rutledge made the call and the turn fell 3. Both players checked and the river brought the 2. Rutledge bet 100,000 and Tran raised to 350,000. Rutledge called and they turned up their hands. Tran held A5 for a full house and Rutledge showed down pocket fours to lose with a straight.

Kearny's Wild Ride - Eliminated in 15th Place ($41,296)

In the last couple of minutes Matthew Kearny has supplied chips to support Mike Ngo doubling up, and then Kearny doubled up himself through Jeff Wiedenhoeft. That all led up to this monster hand:

Kearny raised to 60,000, Wiedenhoeft moved all in for 130,000, and Aaron Coulthard re-popped all in behind him to cover both players. Kearny made the all-in call they then turned up their hands:

Wiedenhoeft took the lead on the flop with kings and tens, lost it on the turn to Kearny's kings and queens and Blake's ace-high straightt, and then regained the lead on the river with a full house. Wiedenhoeft tripled up on the hand to survive, while Coulthard remained in the tournament, but with considerably less chips. Kearny was eliminated in 15th place. He is the first player to receive $41,296 in prize money.
