Analysis
Hand-for-hand play was in effect as the bubble loomed when Palma submitted a substantial three-bet from the big blind with kings. He chased away the first two players, but Magriel suspected Palma might have been squeezing, making a bold play on the bubble. Magriel attempted to flip the script by threatening Palma with his own bubble-play on his suited Broadway ace. Magriel's read was wrong, as his opponent who had invested nearly 20 percent of his stack was ready with a quick call in spite of the bubble. Palma managed to fade the brutal aces, scoring a big double-up as Magriel lost 82 percent of his stack on the hand. Magriel finished in 683rd for $19,263, while Palma went on to finish in 400th for $31,647.
