Outcome

With the blinds at 5,000-10,000 and a 1,000 ante, Richard Loth raised to 27,000 from early position, Andrulis reraised to 68,000 from middle position, Petterson reraised all in from the button, Loth folded, Andrulis called.

Analysis

Andrulis only had 28 big blinds left in his stack when he elected to make a very aggressive steal-play with junk. Andrulis did not have the chip position to warrant such a play, and he was going after an early position raiser. An additional downside to the play were the several opponents behind him yet to act, and Petterson woke up with big slick on the button. After Petterson went all in to isolate, Andrulis was faced with an additional call of 74,000 for the pot of 261,000, receiving irresistible 3.5-1 odds on his money. Andrulis was caught, but he did enjoy live cards to give Petterson the sweat. Andrulis could not hit the board and lost half of his stack on the play, while Petterson caught a key double-up. Andrulis eventually busted in 23rd for 80,000 DKK ($14,600), while Pettersen busted in 18th for the same pay grade.
