Final table, seven-handed, with the blinds at 300,000-600,000 with a 75,000 ante, Ivey went all in, Moon called in the big blind.
Ivey had difficulty gaining momentum at this year’s final table, but he was poised to double up his short stack through Moon in this hand. Moon made the correct play by calling, given his opponent’s chip position and action, but he was dominated and appeared to continue the downward trajectory from his starting stack of 58.9 million. Instead, a queen in the window stunned everyone in the theater, and Ivey was unable to redraw. Our heart goes out to the Humphreys, the elderly couple who were aware of Phil’s potential long before the rest of us. The remaining six players must have been relieved at the departure of the seven-time WSOP bracelet winner, who earned $1,404,014 for his seventh place finish. Ivey has won bracelets in pot-limit Omaha, seven-card stud, seven-card stud eight-or—better, S.H.O.E., no-limit deuce-to-seven, and mixed Omaha eight-or-better/seven-card stud eight-or-better, but a hold’em bracelet continues to elude him. Perhaps some coaching from Hellmuth would do the trick?

Regarding the Phil Hellmuth joke in last sentence: Phil's coaching might ultimately help jeff in future events. the simulated final table practice idea was very good. he way jeff played, I think he would have done better with no coaching though. 5x preflop raises when 2.5-3x was working for everyone else was retarded. Thank god jeff didn't win, we'd have to hear phil taking credit for it. Notice Johnny Chan never goes out of his way to take credit for Jamie Gold. Although I think the way Jammie Gold played, Chan was probably NOT the master mind of that strategy.
Watching the internet broad cast, Phil seemed to play rather tight. Probably card dead, although he did fold JJ preflop. I think Ivey would have had a shot to come back and win had this hand held up. Cada came back from $2.5M in chips! Hopefully Ivey will get another shot at the WSOP final table.
