Outcome

Final table, four-handed, with the blinds at 50,000-100,000 with a 10,000 ante, Deeb raised to 400,000 from under the gun, Vedes reraised to 1,250,000 from the button, Deeb reraised all in, Vedes called and was all in.

Analysis

Vedes' ability to come from behind was remarkable at this final table, although he can hardly be faulted for calling with his queens in this aggressive four-handed battle. Deeb started the day as chip leader, and he would have been in fantastic shape to tie Gus Hansen's record of three _WPT_ titles had his hand held up. Instead, his kings were cracked, and he was subsequently eliminated in fourth, for $278,300. Considering Deeb registered late in day 2 for this deep-stacked event and spotted the rest of the field a day-and-a-half of play, it was a remarkable result for the two-time _WPT_ champion.
