Analysis

This family pot was quickly thinned down on the flop, with Cunix enjoying bottom set against Vedes' unfortunate top two pair. Cunix was wary of the potential straight and flush draws available on the flop, and he knew any Broadway card could give an opponent a straight given the heated preflop action, so he wisely bet his set. Vedes was lurking with a check-raise, unaware that he was crushed. Cunix suffered a tough beat when Vedes hit his four-outer on the turn, giving him top full house. Cunix was crippled when he was unable to redraw to the case 6, and he was eliminated shortly after in sixth, for $168,970.
