Outcome
With the blinds at 6,000-12,000 with a 1,000 ante, Kido Pham raised to 27,000 from the cutoff seat, Jones went all in from the button, Bloch reraised all in from the big blind, Pham folded.
Analysis
With a loose and notoriously aggressive player such as Kido Pham opening the action in late position, Jones felt the timing was right for a re-steal. He had enough chips to deprive Pham of tempting pot odds, and the three-bet would give pause to most good hands in the blinds. Of course, Bloch wasn't going anywhere with kings, and he was in great shape to drag in a healthy pot. The queen on the flop gave Bloch a little to sweat, and unfortunately for him it improved to two pair on the turn, overtaking his cowboys. Bloch was still quite live with 9 outs to the flush, 5 outs to a counterfeit, and, of course, his 2 outs to a set. However, Bloch bricked out on the river, and he was forced to surrender over a third of his stack. This setback probably cost Bloch a cash, as he was eliminated in 31st, just short of the money at 27. Jones was able to parlay this good fortune into a seventh-place finish, good for $129,210.
