Outcome

With the blinds at 800-1,600 with a 200 ante, Jonas Entin raised to 4,000, Shak reraised all in from the cutoff, Tilly reraised all in from the button, Player A called in the small blind and was all in, Entin folded.

Analysis

Shak did well to move in on Entin with a decent pocket pair and only 18 big blinds left to her stack, she sought to either end the hand preflop or face a lone opponent with her pocket pair. Tilly was in an entirely different situation in spite of her similar hand and chip position to Shak. Tilly would have to go to showdown with an opponent already all in, and essentially called off 75 percent of her stack in what she hoped would be a race, assuming the opponents behind her, including Entin, would fold. With 25 big blinds, Tilly could afford to wait and be the initiatior instead of calling off most of her stack on a what she hoped would be a race. Player A woke up with queens in the small blind, having both players dominated with the third pocket pair in a row. Shak was eliminated, while Tilly was crippled and eliminated shortly thereafter.
