Lunkin followed up that success with two major wins in 2009. He won the inaugural PokerStars Russian Poker Tour main event in Moscow in May to take home $433,741. At his first event of the 2009 WSOP, Lunkin won the 40th annual no-limit hold'em tournament to take home $1,891,012. <![CDATA[Jeff Lisandro is a professional poker player who was born in Italy and now hails from Australia.

He started playing at the age of five with his mother. Lisandro had primarily been a cash game player but made a name for himself on the tournament circuit as well.

At the 2007 WSOP, Lisandro finished runner-up in the $5,000 buy-in pot-limit hold'em event, and then went on to win a bracelet in the $2,000 buy-in seven-card stud tournament.

In 2009, Lisandro earned WSOP Player of the Year honors by winning an astonishing three gold bracelets. Proving to be one of the best stud players on the planet, Lisandro earned bracelets in Stud, Stud eight-or-better and Razz. All told, he banked more than $800,000 for his summer performance.

<![CDATA[At age 22, Peter Eastgate of Odense, Denmark, plopped down the $10,000 in cash to buy into the 2008 World Series of Poker main event. He waded his way through the 6,844-player field and secured his spot in the November Nine. Eastgate headed in to the final table fourth in chips with a shot to break Phil Hellmuth's record for youngest main-event winner. After the longest main event final table in WSOP history, Eastgate defeated Ivan Demidov heads up to receive the more than $9.1 million first-place prize.

His previous major-tournament cashes include a final-table appearance at the 2007 Irish Poker Open, as well as a cash at the 2008 European Poker Tour Scandinavian Open main event.

Eastgate went on to quickly post results after his 2008 main event victory. He won a $5,000 preliminary no-limit hold'em event at the 2009 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, and then cashed in 84th place out of 1,347 players in the EPT main event. ]]>

<![CDATA[Bertrand Grospellier is from France, but has been living in Korea since 2001. He moved there to become a professional gamer and is one of the top ranked Starcraft players in the country. When he discovered poker, he could only play online, as there were no places to play live in Korea. Grospellier attests that his computer game talent is a big part of why he was so successful playing poker online.

After switching to playing poker professionally a few years ago, Grospellier began playing more live tournaments. He has played at the World Series of Poker and most of the European Poker Tour events in the last few years. At the 2006 EPT Scandinavian Open, Grospellier placed second for almost $400,000. Second is nice, but it is always huge for professionals to win and own a title. He got his chance at the 2008 EPT PokerStars.net Caribbean Adventure main event. He outlasted the entire field of 1,136 players to win the first-place prize of $2 million. Then, later in the year, Grospellier topped a stacked field at the Bellagio's Festa al Lago for an additional $1.4 million. His success put him in a great position to win Player of the Year honors. He returned to the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure the next year to take down the High-Rollers event and $434,000.]]>

<![CDATA[Roland de Wolfe was the first person ever to win a World Poker Tour title and European Poker Tour title.

He was born in the United Kingdom and comes from a gambling family. He attended Birmingham University where he studied journalism. It seemed fitting that he found a job with Inside Edge, an English poker magazine. As he followed the tournament trail and reported on them, de Wolfe began playing poker and found he had a knack for it.

He soon quit his journalism job when poker proved to be more lucrative. He continued following the circuit, but as a player instead of a reporter. In 2005, de Wolfe defeated defending champion Juha Helppi at the WPT Grand Prix de Paris. Then in 2006, he took down the EPT Dublin event. ]]>
