An opponent tried to make a move against Shulman with nothing in the hole but blanks and Shulman snapped him off. Shulman doubled up to 50,000 after the hand, which sets him up for a nice run through the rest of day 1B.
Dan Heimiller Eliminated
Dan Heimiller limped from the small blind and Dan Shak raised to 1,100 from the big blind. Heimiller made the call and the flop ran out 4-3-2 with two spades. Hemiller bet 1,200 and Shak raised to 3,500.

Lacay Takes a Hit
Ludovic Lacay bets 800 from the hijack and the cut-off raises it to a little more than 2,000. Lacay calls and the chips are quickly pulled into the pot. The flop falls A Q 10 and Lacay bets 3,150. The cut-off calls and the turn is the 9 . Lacay bets 6,600 and the cut-off goes into the tank. He counts out 6,600 and puts it to one side. He then counts the rest of his chips and takes the 6,600 up in his hand. Suddenly he moves all in and Lacay looks bewildered. He gestures as if to say, “What the ??!!”
After a minute of thought he calls, flipping over Q Q . His opponent shows A A for the better set, and then an unnecessary K is dealt on the river, giving him a straight. Lacay has 26,000 and his opponent exhales deeply while counting out his 64,000 in chips.

The Blair Hinkle Show
Action has been stuck at four handed for quite some time this past level. Blair Hinkle has been master of ceremonies and to say he is running the show is an understatement. Seventy-seven hands into things he had taken down 26 pots. With Hinkle taking down one out of every three hands, it is obvious that his opponents are trying to stay away. Just two double up hands by Daniel O'Brien and Mark Brockington are the only thing standing between Hinkle and total domination at this point.
Mark Brockington Doubles Up
Mark Brockington raised all in preflop for 380,000 and Blair Hinkle made the call. Their cards:
Brockington: A 4
Hinkle: Q 9

Big Hands:
Celeste Doubles Through Steicke
Eric Celeste doubled through David Steicke when his A 8 made a straight on the river against Steicke's pocket queens: 10 9 7 - 10 - 6 . Celeste is up to 107,000 and Steicke was down to about 90,000.
Steicke Wreaks Revenge Against Lee
Steicke wreaked his revenge a few hands later when his all was called by Andrew Ly, who held A K and was in a dominating position against Steicke's A 9 . Alas, the board ran out 9 7 6 - 8 - Q and Lee was crippled, down to 11,000. A few hands later Lee was eliminated. Steicke, meanwhile, is up to about 250,000.
Greenstein Unsheathes Pen
Greenstein looked almost amused after his all in from early position was reraised by Chris "CDBR799" Dombrowski on the button. Dombrowski tabled 8 8 , and Greenstein, who showed K 2 , had already unsheathed his pen by the time the board ran out A Q 6 - 6 - 2 to end the bracelet winner's day.
No, Barry, it's Queen on the River
Dustin Dirksen made almost the exact same play Greenstein did, but with slightly better results: Dirksen was all in from the same position holding Q 8 and was immediately called by online pro Russell "rdcrsn" Carson, who showed A A . The flop brough some help to Dirksen, both a pair and a gutshot straight draw, as it hit 10 9 8 . The 4 on the turn helped neither player, but the Q on the river made two pair, and gave him new life in the tournament. Dirksen's stack shot up to about 110,000, while Carson is down to about 50,000.
