Annie Duke - Bio

Annie Duke holds many titles. She is a mother of four, sister of Howard Lederer, and professional poker player. She has degrees in psychology and English from Columbia, but decided to take a shot at poker at the 1994 World Series of Poker at the suggestion of her brother. Ironically, she knocked out Lederer in the process of placing 13th in her first tournament. Duke won $70,000 in her first month of poker competition, which led to a move to Las Vegas to pursue poker professionally.

In 2004, she won her first WSOP bracelet in the $2,000 Omaha eight-or-better event. Later that year, she took down the very prestigious Tournament of Champions, winning $2 million in the invitation-only, winner-take-all, no-limit hold'em event, beating Phil Hellmuth heads up. Duke also recently added the title of author to her résumé when she released an autobiography, Annie Duke: How I Raised, Folded, Bluffed, Flirted, Cursed and Won Millions at the World Series of Poker. She represents Team UltimateBet.
