Josh Arieh Leads Final 29Jul 05, '11
On Tuesday, just over half of the surviving field will make the money and be guaranteed $108,503. The others will have to wait until next year and wonder what could have been. Those who will battle it out for day 4 action include chip leader Josh Arieh, who is stacked with three times the average with 1,819,000. Unlike some others who had a wild, variance-filled day in the 10-game mixed format, Arieh stayed strong and steady, slowly accumulating chips to build upon his eighth place standing heading into the day. There are five others who will join Arieh in the overnight seven-figure chip club including Brian Rast, George Lind, Vladimir Schchemelev, Phil Hellmuth and Scott Seiver.
The action will resume at 3:00 PST at the Rio with a plan in place to battle down to the final table of eight. With some much money on the line, there’s a chance that play could tighten up. Then again, the mounting blinds and antes could force these players to gamble sooner than later if they want to stay in the hunt for the bracelet, the Chip Reese trophy and the $1,720,328 first-place prize. Among notables still in the hunt are… pretty much everyone remaining in the field. Check out the chip counts below for the complete list.
