On a flop of J 5 3 Phil Ivey bet 4,000 only to get check raised to 15,000 by Ryan Young. Ivey made the call and saw the 5 hit the turn. Young bet 27,000 and Ivey moved all in for 65,000. Young showed pocket kings and Ivey could only show Q-J for top pair. Drawing to one of the two remaining jacks, Ivey was eliminated when the 8 hit the river.
Daniel Negreanu Crippled Then Eliminated
On a flop of Q 5 3 Daniel Negreanu bet 3,200. Jon Turner then check raised to 8,400 and sent Negreanu into a min-tank. After about a minute, Negreanu reraised most of his big chips and Turner called all in. Negreanu showed 5 3 for bottom two pair, but was almost drawing dead to Turner's top set of queens. The turn and river came 4 A and Negreanu was crippled down to just a few thousand. A few hands later, he was eliminated.
Alan Goehring Hits The Rail
Despite sitting with a 130,000 stack yesterday, Alan Goehring ran into some trouble late last night to end the day short on chips. Early this level, he was eliminated from the tournament entirely.
Adam Katz vs. David Tran
On a flop of K 9 4 , with 8,000 in the pot, David Tran bet 4,000 from the hi-jack and Adam Katz made the call. Both players checked the 3 on the turn and the K was dealt on the river. Katz bet 6,800 and Tran went into the tank. He made the call, but mucked when Katz turned over pocket jacks.
