Isaac Baron raised to 54,000 on the button and Alex Keating called in the big blind. The flop came down QQ4 and Keating checked.

Baron bet 75,000 and Keating check raised to 170,000. Baron made it 270,000 and Keating reraised to 420,000.

The dealer brought in the 270,000 and Baron moved all in for an additional 1,295,000. Keating made the call, having Baron covered by about 15,000 in chips, not even enough for a big blind.

Baron showed AQ and had Keating’s Q9 out kicked. The turn and river fell 3J and Baron took a commanding lead of over 3.2 million in this tournament.

Glen Chorny raised on the button to 38,000 and Theo Tran moved all in for 261,000 in the small blind.

The action came to Isaac Baron in the big blind who asked for a count. After thinking it over, he announced all in for about 735,000. Chorny then asked for a count from the dealer and after a few moments, he decided to call as well.

Tran turned over AK, hoping the other two had pairs. He got his wish when Baron showed 99 and Chorny showed the superior 1010.

The board rolled out 76538 and Baron spiked a straight on the river to double up to a massive chip lead of over 1.7 million. Chorny was left with 595,000 and Tran was eliminated from the tournament.

Chorny called and the turn was the 10. Nomberg bet 155,000 and Chorny called once again.

The river is the 6 and after some thought Nomberg announced “same bet,” which amounted to 155,000 of his 332,000 stack. Chorny took about 15 seconds before calling and Nomberg congratulated him, showing AK.

Chorny showed pocket fours and took down the massive pot, leaving Nomberg with 155,000. Chorny is now a commanding chip leader with 1.25 million.

Phil Ivey called the 8,825 chip all in of Ketul Nathwani. Ivey tabled the AQ while Ketul exposed the AJ. The board ran out 863K9, as Ivey took the pot and is up to 82,000.

Cornel Cimpan Folds to All In

On a board of 86658, Cornel Cimpan called a 3,500 bet from a player in middle position. The 10 fell on the river and the same player bet all in for 15,500. Cimpan went into the tank before finally mucking. The recent winner of the L.A. Poker Classic is at 60,000 in chips.

Shawn Cunix Can’t Lose

On a flop of 876, the player in the small blind bets 1,500, the player in seat 3 calls and the dealer burns and turns the 6. Shawn Cunix objects, calling for a floorperson as the turn card was dealt before he was able to act. The floorman comes over and makes the ruling. The turn card is pulled back, and Cunix raises all in for a total of 10,000 from the button. The small blind tanks for several minutes before releasing the hand. Seat 3 also folds as Cunix rakes the pot, revealing 96 for the open-ended straight flush draw.

Glen Chorny Wins Pot by Limping In

Glen Chorny was the beneficiary of perhaps the worst possible dealer miscue.

Chorny limped in for 300 and action was folded around to a player in the cutoff who raised the 800. Both blinds folded and the dealer took the cutoff’s hand and mixed the cards together, leaving Chorny with his hand. Clearly not realizing Chorny had limped in, the dealer started moving the pot over to the cutoff. When everyone realized what she was doing, she stopped and a floor person was called over. About five minutes later, after much debating and recounting of the mistake, the floor staff ruled that Chorny wins the pot since he was the only one left with a live hand after the dealer mixed the raiser’s hand in with the deck. Chorny offered to just take back his 300 and let the cutoff take his raise back and the rest of the pot, but Chorny was awarded the pot which included the 800 raise from the cutoff. The player who had 800 chips taken by the dealer looked visibly upset. The same type of ruling would happen regardless of the bet size.

The Brad Garrett vs. Glen Chorny match has been filled with non-stop jokes. Garrett opened by telling Chorny, "Glen, I'm going to have trouble hearing you over your shirt."

It took awhile, but Garrett and Chorny finally got it all in preflop. Chorny, who had not been too amused by Garrett's jokes throughout the match had whittled Garrett down to 15,000 or so.

Garrett turned over J-9 with a spade and Chorny showed AK. The flop came out 1084 and Garrett jokingly understated, "That gives me a few outs, right?"

Chorny, who was disgusted by the flop, was the only person in the room not laughing at the always comical Garrett, who told the dealer that he will get "the golden shower of his life," should he win the hand.

The room erupted with laughter, except for Chorny who loved the A on the turn. Garrett could still win with any Queen, Seven or Spade.

The river was the 9, however, and Garrett was eliminated. Chorny moved on to face Huck Seed.
