Schreiber Wins Event #31Jun 21, '07 Daniel Schreiber Wins Event #31 ($425,594)The second match of the best of three series lasted only 11 hands. Mark Muchnik was clearly disgusted with the way the first match was play and he decided to display some serious firepower. With the blinds still $10,000-$20,000 Muchnik blasted a $300,000 raise across Schreiber's bow putting him on notice, there would be no more weak tight play. Muchnik pulled out all the stops including a few limp reraises on the button. It was one of those moves however, that eventually ended up sinking Muchnik on the decisive hand. Muchnik limped on the button and Schreiber put out his standard raise of $50,000. Muchnik reraised to $400,000 and Schreiber made the call. The flop came J 8 3 , and Muchnik moved all in and Schreiber called for all of his chips. Schreiber tabled K 9 for the flush draw, but Schreiber had the made had at the time with Q J . The next two cards were the 3 A , shipping Schreiber almost all the chips and crippling Muchnik. He was eliminated on the next hand when he failed to improve with Q 8 against Schreiber's K 2 . Muchnik takes home $230,300 for his efforts.
