Jun 27, '08
Blinds: 3,000-6,000
Ante: 500
Players Remaining: 23
Average Stack: 350,000
Chip Leaders:
Bertrand Grospellier: 1,050,000
Samuel Trickett: 690,000
Paul Foltyn: 535,000
Will Failla: 470,000
Joe Commisso: 470,000

Jason Gray: 432,000
Jesper Petersen: 407,000
Bryan Pope: 405,000
Steve Ware: 390,000
Eliminations: Ray Henson, Ryan Daut, Shannon Shorr
Notable Hands:
Hard Luck For Henson
Ray Henson and Tom Lutz were all in before the flop. Henson had Lutz dominated, holding A K to Lutz's A 8 . But Lutz hit his hand on the flop, which came 8 4 2 , and Henson failed to pull ahead again, the turn and river coming 9 Q . Henson was crippled after the hand, slipping to under 10,000 in chips.
He moved all in on the next hand, and Will Failla made the obligatory call holding only J 4 . Henson had the lead with K 8 , and added a few precious chips to his stack as the board ran out 9 8 K 3 K , giving him an unnecessary but welcome full house.
Henson's luck ran out there, however. The very next hand he was all in again and was called by Shannon Shorr. Will Failla then reraised for an additional 50,000, pushing a reluctant Shorr out of the hand, flashing the A as he threw his cards into the muck. Henson showed down Q 10 and was crushed by Fallia's Q Q . The board ran out A 9 4 A 2 , and Failla took back his chips from Henson, who headed to the rail. Fallia commented that he was glad he had managed to push Shorr out of the hand before the flop, preventing him from hitting two more aces. Shorr seemed less excited about the situation.
Shorr 'Nuff
Bertrand Grospellier squeezed out just over a minimum raise in the small blind, betting 13,000. Shannon Shorr made the call from the big blind. Grospellier fired out another 16,000 on the flop of J 7 6 , and Shorr bumped it to 56,000. Grospellier then made it 151,000, and Shorr moved all in for an additional 80,000. Grospellier called, and showed down K K , leaving Shorr's K J in a state of extreme peril. The turn and river brought 4 K , and Shorr was eliminated from the tournament.

No-Limit Level - Final Table Set
Jun 18, '08
Note: Play has ended for the day. The remaining nine final tablists will reconvene tomorrow to crown a winner.
Blinds/Antes: 8000/16000
Players Remaining: 9 of 2,305
Average Stack: 650,000
Chip Counts:
Jose Velador - 1,898,000
Jospeh Georges - 1,202,000
Utsab Saha - 964,000
Jae Chung - 720,000
Anthony Signore - 701,000
Shane Stacey - 653,000
Osmin Dardon - 487,000
Dean Bui - 217,000
Justin Huffman - 150,000
Recent Eliminations:
Ken Hughes (Tenth place - $34,594)
Jesse Maupin (Eleventh place - $34,594)
George Lind (Twelfth place - $34,594)
Ray Henson (Thirteenth place - $26,732)
Big Hands:
Osmin Dardon Makes Joseph Georges Lay Down the Best Hand?
On a board of K Q 5 , Joseph Georges checked to Osmin Dardon who made a bet of 60,000. Georges called, nearly beating Dardon to the flop, and checked again when the 3d fell on the turn. Dardon moved all in for 241,000, and Georges went into the tank. After several minutes of thought, Georges folded his hand. “I think I folded the best hand,” Georges said as the dealer pushed the pot to Dardon. “Yeah, you did,” replied Dardon.
George Lind Eliminated by Utsab Saha
George Lind raised to 42,000 from the cut-off and was reraised by Utsab Saha in the big blind to a total of 100,000. After counting down his chips, Lind announced that he was reraising all in. Saha paused for only a moment and called. “I like his hand,” Lind said before Saha revealed his cards. Lind turned over the Ah9d and was in second place against Saha’s J J . The K 10 6 3 2 board brought no help to Lind, and he was eliminated.
Dean Bui Loses Thirty Percent of His Stack to Anthony Signore
Anthony Signore, desperately hanging on to a short stack, moved all in for 124,000 from under-the-gun. The player next to act was Dean Bui, who thought intensely while debating aloud whether or not to call. Bui made the call, and the other players folded. Bui turned over A 8 , the favorite over Signore’s K Q . The final board read K 10 9 9 6 , and Signore successfully doubled through Bui.
Shane Stacey Eliminates Jesse Maupin and Sends Action to One Remaining Table
Shane Stacey raised to 46,000 from middle position and was immediately reraised all in by Jesse Maupin, who was next to act. The action folded back to Stacey who asked for a count of the remaining amount left to call. When the dealer announced that Stacey only needed to call an additional 52,000, Stacey had a comment. “I raised a random hand, but I can’t fold any two cards for those odds. I apologize in advance,” Stacey told Maupin as he called and turned over 5 2 . Maupin was in front with Q 9 , but the 8 6 3 gave Stacey a flush draw and an inside straight draw. The 4 on the turn sealed the deal, and Maupin was drawing dead against Stacey’s straight.
The players combined into one table of ten to play out until only the nine final players remain.
Ken Hughes Eliminated in Tenth Place, Nine Final Tablists Remain
Shortly into the ten-handed play, Joseph Georges raised to 55,000 from middle position. The action folded to Ken Hughes in the big blind, who announced that he was all in for his remaining 170,000. Georges took several minutes to call, and seemed relieved when Hughes announced that he had a pair. “A pair is fine. That means I have an overcard,” Georges said as he turned over A 3 . Hughes turned over 9 9 , and the flop was dealt: 10 6 4 . The 7 on the turn gave Georges additional straight outs, but the Q on the river sealed the deal and sent the remaining nine players to the final table.

Into The Last Break
Jul 14, '07
Down to Six Tables
Six tables with 47 players remained as the players left their seats to head to a 15 minute break as the eleventh hour of the evening was reached. Still in hunt were Alex Kravchenko, who sat at the featured table, and Kenny Tran who sat at the on-deck circle with Lee Watkinson. Other recognizable professionals who remained in action were Daniel Alaei, who sat at table seven with the only former world champion still standing, Scotty Nguyen. Bill Edler still remained in action as well. These remaining professionals were spread out among a field that had a number of stars and personalities who were beginning to emerge in their own right.
Dueling Chip Leaders
www.pokerstars.com online qualifier, Hevad “Rain” Khan and Ray Henson played their large chip stacks like a couple of dueling banjos over the past hour. The chip lead in the tournament changed hands a few times as these two eliminated a number of opponents during the hour. Both players hold the two largest chip stacks in the field, and Khan has equally large celebrations to match his chip stack. They usually begin with shouts of joy, followed by a victory lap to the ‘No Limit Lounge’ where his group of supporters awaited. At one point he tried on a chair as a new hat in his fit of euphoria. During the hour Khan claimed Kenneth Smith and Adam White as his victims, while Henson busted Marcus Gonzales.
Color Wheel
The remaining chips in play are as close in color as humanely possible. The $5,000 chips are orange. The $25,000 chips are salmon, and the $50,000 chips are pink. This is playing tricks on the combined eyes of the media, ESPN, and the players themselves.
