Khan Knocks Out Lynch
Hevad Khan raised from early position and Eric Lynch decided it was time for him to move all in for his last 42,000. Khan made the call and saw that he was flipping. Khan tabled 5 5 and Lynch showed A J .
The board ran out favorable for Lynch as it came 4 10 K 6 6 , keeping Khan’s pair in the lead and eliminating “Rizen” from the tournament.
Elky Slips With Big Slick
Bertrand “Elky” Grospellier called his opponent all in for about 60,000 preflop. Elky showed A K and was racing against his opponents 10 10 . The flop was not good for Elky, even though he flopped two pair as it fell A K 10 .
The turn and river were unable to fill Elky’s full house with the 5 on the turn and the Q on the river. Elky dropped to 235,000.
The Man Can Dodge Bullets Baby
Phil Hellmuth called 1,600 under the gun and the action folded around to the big blind. He put in a raise and Hellmuth called. The flop was J 3 2 and both players checked. The turn was the 10 and they both checked again. The river brought the 5 and the big blind led out with 11,500. Hellmuth made the call and the big blind tabled J J for a set of jacks. Hellmuth showed Q 10 and proceeded to pat himself on the back for losing the minimum.

That got the other player out of the way, but not the big blind, who called off the rest of his stack.
Junglen held the 8 8 and was behind the J J of his opponent. The board didn’t improve Junglen at all and Junglen’s stack dropped to 51,000.
Cowboys Work For Gazes

Average Chip Count: 31,842
Notable Eliminations:
Jason Mercier
Hevad Khan
Daniel Negreanu
Phil Galfond
John Juanda
Big Hands:

Jason Mercier Elimianted
After a player in middle position raised and Justin Smith called from the button, Jason Mercier reraised to 4,050. The initial raiser folded and Justin Smith called. The flop came J 6 5 and Mercier contemplated briefly before checking. Smith quickly checked behind and the 7 hit the turn. Mercier quickly fired out a 10,100 chip bet and Smith paused momentarily before going all-in. Mercier was pot committed after the turn bet and called all-in for his last couple thousand. Mercier announced he had a flush draw and turned over the A K 4 10 and Smith exposed the nuts with the 10 6 9 8 . The diamond failed to come for the Event No. 5 ($1,500 pot-limit omaha) bracelet winner as the J fell on the river. Smith is now up to 55,000.
Michael Binger Doubles Up
The 2006 Main Event third place finisher was able to have his aces hold up on a board of J 5 2 10 5 . Binger exposed the A A J 4 and doubled up to 18,000.

Hevad Khan Eliminated, Ville Wahlbeck Crippled
A player in late position raised and Ville Wahlbeck reraised from the button. Hevad Khan threw in another reraise from the big blind and the initial raiser went all-in. Wahlbeck had everyone covered and went all-in as well. Khan, who only left himself with about 2,000 behind after his reraise, was pot committed and made the call. Two players were all-in and Wahlbeck had everything covered by only 2,500 in chips.
Their cards:
Wahlbeck: Q J K 9
Khan: K K 5 2
Unknown: A A 7 9
The flop was dreadful for both Khan and Wahlbeck as it came A 7 3 , giving their opponent top set and the nut flush draw. The J made everything more interesting as both Khan and Wahlbeck added flush draws, with Khan’s being higher. If Wahlbeck could catch a club or a card for a straight he would still make a profit in the hand since Khan was so short stacked. Khan had a gut shot to boot with his flush draw. None of the miracles came for either Khan or Wahlbeck as the A fell, making quads for the unknown player. Khan was eliminated and Wahlbeck was crippled to just 2,500.

Phil Galfond Eliminated
Last year’s champion in the event was eliminated when he flopped middle set against an opponent’s top two pair. The turn was ugly for the online cash game specialist as it gave his opponent a full house, eliminating him.
Left In The Deck:
The players are currently on a 90 minute dinner break.

Dan O’Brien Eliminated
With one limper before the flop, another player raises to 1,000 raise. Big Hands:
Mark Seif Eliminated by Hevad Khan
Mark Seif came into the day just over 4,000 in chips but managed to double up early in the day. Later on he moved all in from late position and got a free pass from most of the table, until Hevad Khan looked down at A-10 in the big blind. Seif showed a dominated ace and it never improved to send him out of the tournament.
Jason "Jcarver" Somerville Doubles Through Mark "scrubbyz" Zajdner
Jason Somerville was all in on the short stack for just under 3,000 in chips. It folded around to Mark Zajdner in the big blind who thought out his options. After seeing his hand, he state that he wasn't dominated by many hands and that this may be his only chance to bust Somerville. He made the call with K-10 and Somerville showed pocket fours. The board didn't help Zajdner and Somerville doubled up.
Darren "darrenelias" Elias Doubles Up
Darren Elias moved all in for just under 10,000 in chips and was called by Aaron Been in the small blind. The big blind then announced he was all in, making Been wince a bit before folding his hand. The big blind then showed A K and Elias turned over pocket eights. The board came out queen high and Elias doubled up.
Jon Turner Eliminated
Jon Turner moved all in preflop and Vinnie VInh went into the tank for a moment before making the call. Their cards:
Turner: A A
Vinh: A Q
Board: J 9 9 10 2
Turner was eliminated on the hand and John Phan, who was seated at the table said, "You don't gamble with Vinnie Vinh." A few minutes late Vinh was heard saying to the table, "I want everybody playing with me every time I raise."
Alex Jacob Eliminated
Alex Jacob was eliminated during the closing minutes of level 7 when his A-baby card in the hole ran into pocket sevens.
Kofi Farkye Wins on a Call Without Showing
On a board of Q 9 4 9 , with 2,500 in the pot, seat 1 bet 1,300 from the small blind and Kofi Farkye made the call from the cutoff. The 9 fell on the river and seat 1 fired another 3,000 into the pot. Farkye made the call and seat 1 mucked before Farkye could turn over his hand.

Hevad Khan Wins the Caesars Palace Classic ($1,000,000)
Oct 30, '08
Hevad Khan raised to 800,000 from the button and Michael Kamran made the call from the big blind. The flop was dealt J 9 2 and Kamran checked. Khan bet 900,000 and Kamran raised all in. Khan thought for a moment and made the call. Their cards:
Khan: J 6
Kamran: K 10
The turn was the 7 , giving Kamran more outs. He needed a king, queen or an eight to stay alive, but the river was the 10 , giving the pot and the tournament to the BULLDOZER!
Khan let out a loud scream and picked up his chair in celebration. A crowd of drunken night clubbers came into chant with the champion as he showed a bit of the old "Rain" Khan after more than a year of self-imposed silence.
A video of the celebration will be posted shortly. Meanwhile, Khan took home $1 million, a Breitling watch and the custom Caesars Palace Classic Championship trophy.
