The river brought the 10 and seat 4 checked again. Brunson pushed 22,000 into the pot and seat 4 countered with a raise to 100,000 total. Brunson called quickly and showed A 8 for two pair, but his opponent showed A 10 for a better two pair on the river. Brunson dropped to 210,000.
Zeidman and Lehmann With Perfect Tens
Corey Zeidman moved all in against Markus Lehmann. Both players tabled pocket 10s and both players were forced to chop the pot.
All Flash, No Finish as Magician Chops With DeMichele
In one of the biggest pots of the day, Antonio Esfandiari and Michael DeMichele tangled to the river. Esfandiari raised to 6,000 from the hijack and Freddy Deeb called from the button. Ali Eslami called and DeMichele joined from the blinds as well. The flop came K 8 4 and Eslami led out with 16,000. DeMichele called and Esfandiari proceeded to pop it to 40,500. Deeb and Eslami, but DeMichele stuck around. The turn brought the 8 and DeMichele checked. Esfandiari blasted a bet of 81,200 and DeMichele called. The river came 5 and both players had enough madness as they checked. DeMichele showed K J while Esfandiari tabled K J for a monstrous chop. Esfandiari stood at 470,000 after the hand and DeMichele had 360,000.
Joe Hachem Busts
Joe Hachem pushed for his last 9,700 from early position and was called by Hasan Habib in the small blind. Habib showed A 7 and Hachem was just happy to be drawing live with 10 8 . The board came out 9 4 4 K 6 and Hachem failed to connect, busting shortly before the end of the level.
Seiver Pushes Elky Off His Hand, Takes Down Nice Pot
On a board of J 9 2 5 , Bertrand Grospellier fired 7,700 into the pot from the button. Scott Seiver popped it to 30,000 and Grospellier made the call. Grospellier had 135,000.

Key Hands:
Tony Cousineau Bluffs!
The board read Q 7 5 6 and Mizrachi bet 4,000. Tony Cousineau raised to 15,000 and Mizrachi called. The river was the 3 and Mizrachi checked. Cousineau moved all in for about 32,000 and Mizrachi went into the tank.
Mizrachi was so confused that he flipped a coin to make his decision. Despite the fact that the flip told him to call, he eventually folded and Cousineau revealed A-J high for a busted flush draw. He now has about 75,000 in chips.
Shawn Cunix Cashes In Against Jimmy Fricke
Jimmy Fricked raised to 2,000 and was called by a couple players. The flop came A 8 4 and Fricke continued with a bet of 9,500. Cunix made the call and the turn was the 9 . Fricke bet 18,000 and Cunix called. The river was the 9 and Fricke bet 35,000.

Doug Lee Celebrates Too Soon
Doug Lee was all in against Zach Hyman and Jimmy Fricke before the river. When the river put a spade flush out there, Doug Lee celebrated by clapping his hands together, obviously informing the two others players he made his hand, killing their side action. Fricke and Hyman check it down and Lee shows the nut flush.
Despite tripling up on the hand, Lee was eliminated just a few hands later.

Doug Lee Tanks Again
Oct 28, '08
For the second time today, the clock has been called on Doug Lee.
The first time was a hand during the last level that went so long that the players who stuck around to watch it were not able to go on their break. With four to the wheel and three to a flush on board, Lee tanked when Johnny Chan moved in for his last 65,000 or so. Chan called for the clock himself and after a minute, the tournament director declared Lee's hand dead.
On the most recent hand, the flop read Q J 4 and Lee had bet 9,400. John Phan then raised to 25,500 and again Lee tanked. The clock was called, but Lee only used half of his time before folding.

Doug Lee vs. Johnny Chan
Oct 28, '08
Doug Lee held Q 9 when he min-raised preflop and Johnny Chan reraised to 3,500. Lee made the call and the flop was dealt J 8 2x. Chan bet 6,000, Lee made the call, and the turn brought the 3 . Chan fired out 7,500 and Lee once again made the call. Another 3 (no spade) fell on the river and this time Lee led out for 35,000. Chan then went into the tank for what Lee claimed was 15 minutes before he mucked his hand. Lee picked up a nice pot with the bluff.

On a K-J-10 flop Fred Kulikowski bet 1,000 and both Doug Lee and seat 1 made the call. The turn brought a 2 and Kuliokowski bet 5,000. Both players called and the river brought another 2. Kulikoswki moved all in and both of his opponents made an all-in call. Kulikowski showed down Q-9 for the flopped straight and he eliminated both Lee and seat 1. Kulikowski now holds 37,000, good for second chip position.

Card Player Classic
Oct 26, '08
Seat 1 decided to move all-in in the dark against Doug Lee on a flop of Q-3-2. Lee immediately called him down with 3-2 in the hole, and his opponent turned up A-Q. The turn and river fell 6-4 and Lee eliminated his opponent. "That's a Card Player classic," said Lee, laughing after the hand.

Daniel Negreanu Busts Two
Oct 23, '08
Shawn Sheikhan opens with a raise and Daniel Negreanu flat calls. Doug Lee then moves all in on the short stack and Sheikhan isolates all in as well. The problem is that Negreanu has pocket aces and makes the call.
Lee shows pocket fives, Sheikhan shows pocket eights and the board produces neither. Negreanu makes a full house with an A-3-3 flop and now sits with 450,000 in chips.

$1,500 Pot Limit Omaha - Level 1 recap
Jun 10, '08
Blinds: 25/50
Players: 750
Recent Eliminations: Shannon Elizabeth
Big Hands:
No Perfect 10 for Elizabeth
Movie star Shannon Elizabeth was playing just the second hand dealt at her table to begin the tournament. From the small blind, she was one of four players in for 175 preflop. The flop came 8 8 5 and all four players checked. The turn brought the 10 and Elizabeth led out for 400. The big blind called while the other two players folded. The K came on the river and Elizabeth bet 800, atr which point the big blind raised all-in. Elizabeth called and showed 8-5 for a flopped full house. The big blind held Q Q 10 10 , for a better full house spiked on the turn. During the hand Erick Lindgren took his seat at the table, and within 15 minutes he had eliminated another player.
Bleznick Call Comes Home
The big blind raised to 450 and six players called, including the small blind noting that the pot odds dictated a call. The flop came 6 4 3 , and the small blind pushed all-in. It was folded to Jared Bleznick in seat 6, who called his final 1525 in chips. The small blind held 7 5 4 3 for a flopped straight along with two pair. Bleznick held A Q J 6 for the nut flush draw. It came on the turn with the 10 and the river bricked, allowing Bleznick to scoop a monster.
Lee Still Alive
Doug Lee was a late arrival and lost the bulk of his chips early, but he was one of four callers to see a flop for 125. The flop came 10 6 5 and Lee checked from the small blind. Seat 5 bet 300 and Lee called. The 6 paired the board on the turn and Lee bet out 500, enough to take down the pot.
Katja Thater Crushed in First Round
On a board of 10 8 5 , 2007 bracelet winner Katja Thater got it all in against a short-stacked opponent. He flipped over A 7 4 2 for the nut flush, and Thater turned over Q Q 9 2 for a lesser flush. Katja still had ways of winning the pot via the J for a queen-high straight flush and running cards for a full house. The turn and river failed to deliver, and Thater was left with less than 1,000 in chips.
Phil Gordon Check-Raised, Gives Up on Pot
In a multi-way limped pot, Phil Gordon made a bet of 200 into a flop of Q 5 4 . After all other opponents folded, the player on Gordon's right check-raised him an additional 1,000. Gordon deliberated but released his hand, leaving him with 2,100 in chips.
Shulman knocks one out
Allyn Jaffrey Shulman raised to 150 and the player to her immediate left called. The two players saw the flop come 6 4 K . Shulman checked and her opponent moved all in for just 225. Shulman called with A 10 10 6 , while her opponent held A 5 4 2 . The turn and river were J and 6 , giving the pot to Shulman. It was a good level for Shulman; after the hand she had about 7,500 chips.

Sebok Runs Into Aces

Duthie Gets Eliminated
After the small blind checked, John Duthie bet 1,000 on a flop of 8 6 3 . The player to his left raised all in, and the small blind immediately called for less. Duthie, who must have felt he was committed to such a large pot, called his last 700 with the J 5 , no pair and no draw. He was in really bad shape when his opponents turned over their cards-- two nines for the player to his left, two queens for the small blind. Alas, there was no runner runner and Duthie was out with thirty minutes left in only the second round.
Seidel Grinding Away
From the big blind Erik Seidel called a raise to 225. 10 8 6 came on the flop and Seidel checked. The raiser bet 325 and Seidel called. The turn was the K and both players checked. Bill Gazes Falls, But Climbs Back
On a board of 9 6 2 , both Bill Gazes and Dan Adams checked. The 4 on the turn induced a bet of 400 from Gazes. Adams called and the pot was at 1,400. The 4 on the river was checked by both players and Adams showed 8 8 , taking the pot. Gazes mucked and is sitting with around 2,200.

Sklansky Down But Not Out, Seidel Up
After a middle position opponent raised to 150, David Sklanksy called on his button. After the raiser fired again after a flop of Q 9 4 , Sklansky mucked his hand.
A few hands later, Sklansky pushed his final 675 in on a board that showed A J 8 J and his opponent folded. Sklansky sits with around half of his starting stack, with 1,500 in chips
Less than ten feet away, Erik Seidel was quietly taking down his second medium-sized pot, this time betting 275 on a flop of J 6 4 , drawing no callers and adding to a chip stack that already surpasses 4,000.
Doug Lee And Andy Bloch Moving in Different Directions
Seated together, Doug Lee and Andy Bloch are getting plenty of action. Lee moved all in on a flop of 10 8 5 and was called by one player, who flipped over A 10 . Lee showed Q Q . The turn and river came 6 4 and Lee doubled up to nearly 7,000 and his opponent was left crippled.
With the board showing Q 4 3 6 , seat 7 bet 400 and Lee raised up to 1,100 and seat 7 called. The 6 came on the river and Lee bet 1,600 putting his opponent all in. Seat 7 called and showed K-Q for top two pair and Lee turned over 3 6 for a full house and further increased his stack.
Andy Bloch took a hard hit when player in middle position raised to 175 and Andy Bloch called from the small blind. The flop came 6 2 2 , Bloch checked and his opponent bet 300. Bloch check-raised to 1,500 and his opponent moved all in. Bloch made the call and showed 8 8 and was behind his opponent's A A . The turn and river came 3 3 and Bloch was left crippled with around 550 in chips.
Dewey Tomko Busts Two Opponents
On a board of 4-3-2, Tomko had two players all in with only 50 left behind. He showed A-A and the board did not improve his opponents' hands and Tomko nearly trippled up to around 5,300.
Haxton's Makes Great Read and Gets Eliminated
After his opponent bet 250 on a board of J 7 2 , Haxton raised to 750. His opponent wasted little time in coming over the top for the size of the pot, another 1850 that threatened to put Haxton most of the way in. Looking pained and uncomfortable, Haxton tanked for more than three minutes before reraising all in for a token 500 more. "I think you have a flush draw," muttered Haxton, turning over A K to the amazement of the table. His read was perfect--his opponent indeed held A 6 --but the 8 on the turn had him drawing dead and heading for the exit.
Flack Gets Crippled
Layne Flack limped from early position, the small blind raised to 150 and Flack called. The flop came 9 6 3 . The small blind bet 300 and Flack called. The turn brought the 5 , his opponent fired out a 1,000 bet and Flack called. The river was the 8 and his opponent bet 1,500. Flack deliberated for several minutes before calling. His opponent showed A A and Flack mucked his hand. He busted a few hands later.

Dutch Boyd is now sitting at Joe Sebok's table.

Hour Three Recap
Jul 07, '07
The remaining players fought through a crowd of spectators lined up to get into the Amazon room as they returned from their half hour break following the completion of level one. The blinds had increased to $100-$200 as the third hour of play got underway.
New Chip Leader
Joe Sebok has emerged as the chip leader in the last hour, having built his stack up to $56,000 as a result of his solid play. With four limpers into the pot, Sebok checked in the big blind. The flop came 10 9 6 and the player in the small blind checked. Sebok bet out $700 and the player in seat four raised to $1,500. The small blind instantly called and Sebok reraised to $5,500. Seat four folded and the small blind called. The turn was the 4 and both players checked. The river brought the A and the player in the small blind pushed all in for $11,000. Sebok thought for just a moment before making the call. The small blind showed A J for top pair with a busted flush draw. Sebok turned over 10 9 for two pair and took down the large pot.
Rollin' On the River
Doug Lee is across the Amazon room but with $50,000 in chips, is right on Sebok's tail. Lee chipped up in the last hour and did so with a little luck. The player second to act raised to $600 and action folded to the blinds. The player in the small blind called and Doug Lee called from the big blind. The flop came 8 5 3 and the small blind checked. Lee bet out $1,500 and the other player in the hand folded. The player in the small blind raised to $4,000 and Lee made the call. The turn was the 4 and the player in the small blind bet out $10,000. Lee waited for a moment before coming back over the top all in. The small blind called and showed 3 3 for bottom set. Lee turned over 8 5 for just top two. Sensing his tournament life was over, Lee looked defeated. The river brought the miracle 5 for Lee, filling his boat and giving him the huge pot. Lee's opponent was eliminated and Lee climbed the leaderboard.
Mercier Builds Her Stack
Isabelle Mercier, member of Team Pokerstars ( www.pokerstars.com), has also enjoyed some good fortune in the early hours and now sits with a healthy chip stack herself. Mercier raised to $600 second to act and was called by both the blinds. The flop was 10 7 2 and all three players checked. The turn was the 10 and the player in the small blind bet out $10,000. The big blind folded and Mercier made the call. The river was the K and the small blind led out with $2,000. Mercier called again and her opponent said, "ace high." Mercier flipped over K 5 for top two pair and raked in her chips.

In a heads up pot with an unknown player, Scott Fischman made a $12,000 bet on the river with the board showing K 10 3 10 9 . Fischman's opponent called, putting him all in, and was holding A K . Fischman showed Q 10 and sent his opponent to the rail while building his stack to $35,000.
No Easy Task
A player by the name of Jason Halbrook is playing in today's event and he's sitting at table 229 with David Oppenheim and J.J. Liu. Sitting at the table with two great poker players is the least of Halbrook's worries today as he has another hurdle to overcome. Halbrook is seated with an aide that views his cards and relays the information to him because Halbrook is blind. With a difficult task ahead of him, we would like to wish Jason the best of luck.
Shallow In Deep
Englishman Dave 'Dubai' Shallow, seated at a table with former World Champion Tom McEvoy and recent bracelet winner Alexander Kravchenko put his tournament life on the line when he got his remaining $3,700 chips in the middle when the flop came 5 6 2 . He got two callers who checked down the 9 turn and 3 river.
Shallow flipped over 2-2 and scooped the pot to bring him back to $15,500 in chips.
'Aces' Gets Cracked
Simon 'Aces' Trumper is somewhat fortunate to be alive in this game. His top full house was bested by quad Jacks. This left him with just one-tenth of his starting stack.
He is fighting back though and looks very focused. He has $3,800
Some Euro Chip Counts
Marc Goodwin is in ebullient form and has $45,000, Donnacha O'Dea looks relaxed with $30,200, and the ever-smiling Praz Banzi has $14,050. Isabel Mercier has been moved to Eoghan O'Dea's table. Eoghan has $19,800 while Ben Grundy has $35,000.
