Thomas Joanides Doubles Through Lee Markholt
Lee Markholt bet 6,000 on the button. Thomas Joanides moved in from the big blind for 1,300 more. Markholt made the easy call and tabled the J 4 while his opponent exposed the 9 8 . The board ran out K 9 2 6 4 , and Markholt lost the pot to fall to 60,000. Joanides is at 21,000.
Kevin Stammen Doubles Up

Jordan’s Kings Cracked, Eliminated
Jordan Morgan raised in the cutoff and the player in the cutoff moved all-in for 60,000. Morgan quickly called with K K and the small blind showed Q 10 . The flop was 8 8 J ,giving the small blind a straight draw.
The turn bricked but the river was the 9 filling the straight draw and sending Morgan out the door.

9. Anders Taylor — 93,200
10. Nicholas Chlebeck — 92,000
Notable Eliminations:
Amarillo “Slim” Preston
Vanessa Rousso — $1,877
Card Player Chip Counts:
Jon Friedberg – 30,000
Big Hands:
Slim Sent Home Early
After a bunch of folds, Amarillo “Slim” Preston raised to 3,000 from the cutoff. Nick Chlebeck then three-bet from the small blind to 8,500 and Preston eventually made the call. The flop fell 3 4 6 and Preston tried to move all-in out of turn. Once he was told that the action was on Chlebeck, Chlebeck checked and Preston put out a couple stacks of chips and in rapid succession Chlebeck moved all-in and was Preston moved all of his 30,000 into the middle.
Chlebeck showed A A and Preston was in bad shape tabling the A 3 . The turn was the 8 and the river was the 5 giving Preston a very early exit on Day 2. Chlebeck now has about 75,000 in chips.
Hamby Doubles Up Opponent, But Still Healthy
It folded to the player in the cutoff, who moved his last 9,600 into the middle. Jared Hamby was in the big blind and eventually tossed in a call. Hamby tabled A 5 and was behind his opponent’s A 8 .
Hamby politely asked the dealer for a chop pot with a wry smile. Unfortunately the dealer put an 8 on the flop and Hamby was drawing dead on the turn. He still has 29,000 in chips.
Ladies Aren’t Lucky for Rousso
A player in middle position raised to 2,700 and Lisa Parsons raised from late position to 7,000. Vanessa Rousso then moved all in for 30,000 and the original raiser moved in for 46,600. Parsons then folds A-K face up and the other two hands were revealed.
Rousso showed the Q Q and was up against the K K of her opponent. The board didn’t bring a queen for Rousso and the table got a little uglier with her exit.
Justin Young Puts an Opponent All In
Justin Young (22,000 in chips) bet 2,500 preflop and was called by an opponent. The flop came Q 10 4 and Young’s opponent checked. Young announced all in, having his opponent significantly covered. His opponent, with only about 12,000 in chips left, tanked before folding. Young showed the A K and took the pot to increase his stack to 26,000.
Left In The Deck:
The money bubble has burst and the action seems to be picking up. We should expect to see a lot of action in the next few levels.
With so many bustouts and stoppages of time to manage the number of tables and players in the field, the tournament officials have put players on their 20 minute break a little early.

TheWacoKidd Snags A Pot
After a flop of 6 5 2 , a player bet 1,100 and Jared Hamby made the call. The turn brought the 5 and Hamby called another bet from his opponent, this one 2,100. The river was the 9 and the player fired 5,100.
Hamby made the call and tabled 10 10 and his opponent mucked. Hamby took the pot and was at 33,000.
Feldman Drops A Pot
Peter Feldman raised to 550 from the button and both blinds called him. The flop came down 6 2 3 and the action was checked to Feldman. He bet 1,100 and only the small blind came along. The turn was the K and both players checked. The river was the A and Feldman bet 2,400.
His opponent called and Feldman showed Q 9 for a whole bunch of nothing. His opponent showed A Q for top pair and the pot. Feldman was down to 33,000.
Garza Backs Into a Straight
Jeff Garza raised to 600 from late position and is three-bet by the player on the button. Garza quickly tosses in a call and both players check all three streets as the board runs out K 7 3 9 6 .
Garza turned over the 10 8 , making the nut straight on the river. Looking surprised to have that hand shown to him, his opponent mucked his hand.
Rousso’s Nines Trump Opponent
After a preflop raise, Vanessa Rousso was heads-up with her opponent. The flop was 8 7 3 and after a check, Rousso tossed out a blue chip, indicating a bet of 500.
The turn was the 4 and Rousso bet 1,000 after her opponent checked for a second time. The river was the 6 and Rousso bet 2,000 after her opponent checked one last time. After a shrug and a sigh, her opponent put out enough chips for a call and Rousso showed 9 9 . Her opponent tossed her hand into the muck.
Sunar’s Set Scoops the Pot
Surinder Sunar check-raised all in for his last 3,075 on a flop of 9 5 6 and was called by his opponent. When their hands were turned face up and Sunar showed 6 6 , good for middle set.
Sunar needed to dodge a jack as his opponent held the J J . The turn and river were safe for Sunar and he doubles up to approximately 8,500.

Steven Saris: 183,00
Nathan Doudney: 181,000
Average Stack: 119,286
Eliminations: Jared Hamby, Dan Adams, Mats Rahmn, Marc Goodwin
Big Hands:
Full House, Sir?
"Do you have a full house," whispered Jared Hamby to his opponent, Layne Flack. Hamby had just led out on the river on a board of K J 10 A A for 8,000, and Flack had raised him to 30,000, almost the rest of his remaining stack. Flack threw back his head and laughed. "That's a question I'd never thought I'd get asked right there," said Flack. Hamby finally elected to call, and Flack showed the bad news: A J for aces full. After the hand Flack was up to close to 190,000, while Hamby had just about 6,500. He was eliminated a short while later.
Battle of the Surnames
Kyle Bowker moved all in for his last 9,000 and was called by Kyle Kloeckner. It was pretty much a race, with Bowker holding A K Q 10 versus Koecker's 9 8 7 7 . The flop was bad for Bowker, as Kloeckner hit his set on a board of 8 7 2 , although it did give him outs to a flush. But the 8 had him drawing pretty well dead. Kloeckner, meanwhile, is second in the tournament in chips with about 345,000 in chips.
Adams Can't See the Forrest for the Trees
Ted Forrest raised to 5,000 preflop. The player in seat 1 called, as did Dan Adams. The flop came A 8 3 and all players checked. The turn was the 7 and Adams checked to Forrest. He proceeded to fire 15,000. Seat 1 made the call and Adams came over the top for his entire stack. Forrest made the quick call and seat 1 got out of the way. The hands were then turned up.
Forrest: A A J 3
Adams: K J 10 9
Forrest had top set while Adams had possibilities galore. He had an open ended straight draw to go with his gutshot straight flush draw. But the river was the 8 , breaking the lead of Adams' drawing pencil and putting Forrest on a boat with the eight's doing the paddling with the rest of Adams' chips as passengers.
Wahlroos Forces Out Fernandez
Jacobo Fernandez made it 5,000 to go preflop. Thomas Wahlroos made the call and the flop came 10 3 5 . Both players checked and the turn brought the 3 . Wahlroos took the initiative and fired 15,000 into the pot and Fernandez mucked. Wahlroos moved up to 237,000 in chips.

Michael Binger – 24,000
Eliminations:
Phil Ivey
Big Hands and Storylines:
Michael Binger: Serious Business
Darrell “Gigabet” Dicken raised from early position and was called by Michael Binger two seats to his left. Dicken bet the Q 7 5 flop and Binger called. The turn was the 4 and Dicken bet again. Binger tossed in a raise and Dicken, smiling, asked, “Whaddya got?” Binger slowly and seriously counted down the chips in front of him and gave Dicken an answer. Of course, this information wasn’t quite what “Gigabet” was looking for: “I meant the cards in your hands,” Dicken quipped, before folding his hand. We don’t know what cards Binger had, but we do know that he currently has about 24,000 in chips, a couple thousand more than Dicken’s 22,000.
Harman Hanging On
Erik Cajelais raised preflop from middle position and Harman called from the small blind. Harman checked raised him on the Q 10 7 flop and Cajelais called. The turn was the 2 and Harman bet, Cajelais raised, Harman 3-bet, and Cajelais made another raise, putting Harman all in. Harman called and the two both showed down A-Q, splitting the pot and allowing Harman to live for another hand. Harman has only about 5,000 chips left, but Cajelais is sitting pretty with 30,000.
“Waco” Standoffish
Upon losing another pot, Jared “TheWacoKidd” Hamby tossed down his hand in frustration and started shuffling his chips -- all four of them. The quartet of remaining 1,000-denomination chips leaves him with a mere 4,000 from his starting stack of 20,000. Hamby will need a bit of luck to dig himself out of this hole.
Boeken Re-building
Noah Boeken raised from the hijack and Bill Edler called from the cutoff. The two saw a flop of A 7 2 and both players checked. On the A turn, Boeken bet out and Edler called him. Boeken bet the river 9 , and Edler quickly folded. This hand brought Boeken back up to 10,000 in chips while Edler slipped to 19,500.

Big Hands and Storylines:
Hellmuth Drives Out Sica, Then Reads Opponent Perfectly
On a board showing 10 8 4 , Phil Hellmuth pushed his stack into the middle against Mike Sica. Sica went into the tank, saying that he felt Hellmuth probably had the best hand. "I'll take this one, you take the next one," Hellmuth said. Sica obliged and mucked his hand, leaving Hellmuth with around 12,000.
Later, an opponent moved all in and three players, including the "Poker Brat," called. The flop came Q 4 2 . Hellmuth bet 2,400 and was raised by one opponent, who made it 4,200. Hellmuth stood up in frustration, saying that his opponent couldn't be bluffing and probably had a set. He angrily mucked his hand and, sure enough, Hellmuth's opponent flipped Q Q for three lovely ladies. The all in player showed A A and was in need of help. The turn was a blank, but the river was the A and sent the ladies to the muck.
Masterful
Men "The Master" Nguyen raised before the flop and his opponent moved all in. Nguyen instantly called and showed K K , leaving his opponent drawing thin with A Q . The flop came Q 5 3 , giving Nguyen's opponent some hope. But the turn and river bricked and Nguyen eliminated his opponent. Nguyen was around 50,000 after the hand.
Hamby Doing Well
Jared "TheWacoKidd" Hamby called a raise preflop by his opponent. The flop came A 3 10 and both players checked. The turn came 10 and Hamby checked. His opponent made his move and went all in and Hamby picked him off, calling instantly and turning over the rockets, A A . His opponent had Q J for nothing but hopes and dreams to hit a gutshot straight draw. The river was the 7 and he was out, giving his chips to Hamby. "TheWacoKidd" was at around 22,000 after that.
"Get Outta There!"
Men "The Master" Nguyen and Barry Greenstein were at the same table and were captivated by the NBA Finals game on the television 15 feet away. The game was in crunch time with just two minutes to go when Ngyuen yelled "get outta there" toward the handful of people gathering around the television, blocking "The Master's" view.

With Hellmuth the fun never stops
Toward the end of the second level, Phil Hellmuth raised all in out of the small blind for 1,775 with pocket kings and was immediately called by pocket aces. But he caught an ace on the river to double up. Then he stuck around for a couple extra minutes during the break to get involved in another big pot which he lost.
Early in the third level he and the player to his immediate right saw the flop come 8 4 2 . Both players checked and the turn was the 5 . Hellmuth bet 400 and his opponent called. Then the 8 and Hellmuth bet 2,600, the number of chips the player had remaining. After the hand Hellmuth had about 9,000 chips.
WacoKidd nabs a pot
Jared Hamby raised to 475 preflop and was called by the small blind. The flop was A 4 2 and after the blind checked Hamby bet 525. His opponent folded immediately and Hamby scooped up the pot. After the hand Hamby had about 12,000 chips. But it doesn't seem like he's all the excited; he's spent more time on his phone sending text messages than he has paying attention to his table.

Big Hands:
Elezra chops up big pot
After a J K 5 flop, Eli Elezra bet 2,500 and then called a raise for 8,200 more. Lee Watkinson was also in the hand and folded. The turn was the T and the raiser check-called Elezra's 15,000 bet. The river was the Q , putting four to a straight on the board and both players checked. Both Elezra and his opponent turned over K-J for two pair. While Elezra grabbed the cards and stared at them, Watkinson mentioned that he had an ace in his hand. Though Elezra didn't get his way in the hand, it was overall a good a level for him. At the beginning of the hour he won a huge hand when he held pocket fives and rivered a five for a full house.
Hamby forced to venture to new table
Currently Jared 'TheWacoKidd' Hamby has over 40,000 chips. His table just broke up though, and according to a player at another table its the last thing he would have wanted. Apparently he had been raising frequently and manhandling the other players. This late in a tournament it's rare to find a table where a player can get away with that kind of play, but for a while perhaps Hamby did.
Selbst surviving but still in trouble
Jimmy Tran raised from the cutoff position to 2,700 and Vanessa Selbst reraised to 7,000 from the button. Tran, who would later say he had K-Q, asked Selbst if she had pocket jacks repeatedly and Selbst replied every time, "No shame in folding." Eventually he did, and Selbst currently has 15,000 chips. Tran has 88,000 chips and is among the chip leaders.

Big Hands:
"TheWacoKidd" Bombs Laak
Action folded all the way to Phil Laak in the small blind. He completed the bet to 400. Jared "TheWacoKidd" Hamby raised from the big blind. Laak immediately countered with those two special words: "all in." Hamby proceeded to go into the tank for several minutes. He put his head down on the felt, and then stared at Laak to try and gain information. Finally, Hamby made the call. Laak reached over and flipped over Hamby's cards, saying "good call." Hamby had A 10 while "The Unabomber" showed J 9 .
Laak was in trouble until the flop came Q 8 9 . Hamby still had outs, as he had a gutshot straight draw to go along with his ace. The turn was the Q and no help to anyone. Laak was one card away from eliminating Hamby when the A appeared on the river. Hamby doubled up to around 22,000 while Laak was crippled to just about 1,300.
The Finishing Blow
A few hands later, Laak pushed the rest of his low stack into the middle. He was called by seat 5 who tabled 10 10 . Laak showed A 2 . The flop came Q 8 8 and Laak was in deep trouble. The K on the turn left Laak drawing to a three-outer, but the river came 4 and Laak was eliminated.
"The Toughest Big Blind in the Game"
Jean-Robert Bellande has been known to get under an opponent's skin. The player under the gun found out why when he raised Bellande's big blind. Action folded around to Bellande, who pushed his entire stack into the pot. "The toughest big blind in the game," Bellande bellowed. "I will defend, I will defend," he poured on. "Don't make me turn over 8 7 !"
The player finally folded and Bellande held his hand over the muck, debating whether to turn his hand or not. He finally just let it drop face down into the muck, repeating "wow" as a parting shot.
Watkinson Dumps Off Some Chips
Seat 5 raised preflop to 1,400 total and Lee Watkinson made the call. The flop came 8 4 3 . Seat 5 bet 1,550 and Watkinson called. The 3 came on the turn and seat 5 bet 3,250 and Watkinson called again. Seat 5 bet another 10,000 when the 4 hit on the river. Watkinson called one more time and seat 5 showed 10 10 . Watkinson nodded his head, then mucked his hand. He was at 12,000 after the hand.
