As a World Series of Poker rookie, Ian Johns entered his first event without a clue of what to expect. He had previous experience playing poker for high stakes online, but had never competed for a bracelet. Johns entered a $3,000 buy-in limit hold?em event in the 2006 WSOP and battled through a field of 341 players to win the first-place prize of almost $292,000 along with his first bracelet.

Johns has also cashed in four other major tournaments. Johns currently resides in Seatac, Washington.
