Event No. 8 ($1,500 no-limit hold’em) Begins at Noon Wednesday

Event No. 8 ($1,500 no-limit hold’em) at the 2010 World Series of Poker will begin at noon on Wednesday, June 2. Players will begin with 4,500 in tournament chips and blinds will begin at 25-50. Levels will be 60-minutes long and there will be a 20-minute break after every two levels. There will be a 90-minute dinner break after level 6 on day 1. Here is a look at the schedule for the event:

Wednesday, June 2, noon: Day 1 (play 10 levels)
Thursday, June 3, 2:30 p.m.: Day 2 (play down to final table or through 10 levels)
Friday, June 4, 2:30 p.m.: Final Table

In 2009 this event attracted 2,506 players and the tournament was won by Panayote Vilandos, who took home $607,256 in prize money.

Hamrick raised to 150,000 preflop and action folded around to Panayote Vilandos in the big blind. He proceeded to move all in, having Hamrick covered. After some thought, Hamrick called his final 980,000 into the pot and the showdown was on.

Hamrick was racing preflop but was drawing stone-dead on the turn as Vilandos filled up and Hamrick made his exit in 5th place.

David Lerman Eliminated In 7th Place($88,937)

Glenn McCaffrey raised to 115,000 before the flop and Alan Jaffrey made the call. David Lerman also came along and the flop was 1043. Lerman was first to act and moved all in for 415,000. McCaffrey then reraised to get Jaffrey out of the pot. Jaffrey obliged by folding and the hands were shown.

Lerman was in bad shape and the K on the turn put left him with very few outs. The A on the river sent Lerman home in 7th place.
