Tom Dwan Eliminated
Sep 30, '09
We have no idea what happened, but Tom Dwan is no longer in this tournament.
On his way out, Sammy George tried to stir up some more action with a side bet, but Durrrr confessed he hadn’t slept yet and wanted to pass out. Enjoy your slumber, Mr. Dwan.

Can I Get A Little Action?
Sep 30, '09
Just arriving to the tournament, last year’s runner-up John Juanda is already looking for an increase in the action. Other than Ivey’s departure, the event has started out slow and both Juanda and Tom Dwan are in the process of negotiating a cross-book.
The two are having trouble coming up with a fair price, however, as both believe their table is tougher. Dwan is appropriately seated with a group of young, tough online players, while Juanda is grouped with the live pros such as Chris Ferguson, Vanessa Rousso, Erik Seidel and Chris Moneymaker.

Phil Hellmuth Defeats Tom Dwan
Mar 07, '09
Over at the featured table, Phil Hellmuth leaped from his seat, gave a few silent fist pumps and paced around the room for a few seconds. Then he went back to the table, turned over his cards and shook Tom Dwan's hand.
Apparently, Hellmuth won his match against Dwan, although you wouldn't know it by the zero announcing that came from the staff here. The crowd, the rest of the media and many of the crew are completely clueless to the details, but all we can say is.... You're going to have to catch that one on T.V.
Dwan earns $25,000 and Hellmuth moves on to face the winner between Bertrand Grospellier and John Juanda.
Wasicka and Rousso have been moved into the featured table.

Last Laugh for Dwan
Jan 24, '09
The last hand of the night saw a flop of K Q 3 hit the table with Tom Dwan, Jamie Pickering, and Phil Laak all limping in preflop. Dwan bet $3,400 from the button, Pickering mucked in the small blind, and Laak made the call from the big blind. The turn fell 4 and Laak checked. Dwan bet $8,800 and Laak made the call. The river fell 2 and Laak checked again. Dwan bet $62,200 and Laak went into the tank. After agonizing about the decision Laak made the call and Dwan turned over 8 6 to win the hand with a flush.
After the hand the players began to bag up their chips. Laak returned the $200,000 he borrowed from Dwan after the Unabomber hit the felt earlier. He was left with $15,000 in his stack after that. He was stuck $185,000.

Tough Luck for Durrrr
Jan 24, '09
For the second time tonight Tom Dwan was out in front in a pot only to have lady luck bail out Antonius and chop a pot between the two players. The recent addition saw a board of 9 6 5 8 A . As you can see below Antonius hit a gutshot straight to catch up to Dwan and save himself from losing a hefty amount of cash. Their hole cards:
Dwan: K 8 7 7
Antonius: K Q 7 6
A setback for Dwan, but is still holding strong in his attempt to get unstuck against Antonius.
