Crippled just a few hands prior, Kieth Lehr gets it all in pre-flop with A A against Ken Lenaard’s A 9 .
The board comes Q 8 7 K 9 , giving Lenaard the ace-high flush on the river to crack Lehr’s aces and send him to the rail in 27th place ($24,066).
Luke Staudenmaier Eliminated in 24th Place ($24,066)
It’s a three-way all in pot between Luke Staudenmaier, Kirill Gerasimov and Keven Stammen; Stammen has them both covered.
Staudenmaier: J 10
Gerasimov: A K
Stammen: 10 10
Board: 7 5 2 Q A
Stammen leads the pot with a pair of tens until the river where Gerasimov spikes an ace. Gerasimov more than doubles up this hand, now with 550,000 in chips as Stammen takes a big hit to his stack and Luke Staudenmaier is eliminated in 24th place ($24,066).
Kevin Stammen Eliminated in 23rd Place ($24,066)
Bryn Kenney Eliminated in 22nd Place ($24,066)
Kevin Stammen raises form under the gun and John Kabbaj reraises to 150,000 behind him. One-time chipleader Bryn Kenney moves all in for 278,000 from the big blind and both opponents call.
Stammen: J J
Kenney: 10 10
Kabbaj: A K
Board: 8 5 2 A 9
Kabbaj pairs his ace on the turn and eliminated both of his opponents in the same hand. Kevein Stammen is eliminated in 23rd place ($24,066) while former chipleader, Bryn Kenney is forced to settle for 22nd place ($24,066). John Kabbaj rakes the pot and secures a massive chiplead with well over 1.5 million this hand.

Big Hands:
David Chiu Doubles Through Greg Raymer
Just a few moments into the level, David Chiu was all in holding A-K against the A-9 of Greg Raymer. The board bricked for both players and Chiu doubled up to 260,000. Raymer is still far and away the chip leader with 2.5 million.
Sami Kelopuro Busts to Lex Veldhuis
Lex Vedlhuis raised to 45,000 and Sami Kelopuro moved all in for his last 300,000. Veldhuis made the call and showed A J for a dominating hand against Kelopuro’s A 9 .
The board came K K 7 K 8 and Veldhuis came out on top, sending Kelopuro to the rail out of the money. Veldhuis has closed the gap on the chip leaders with 1,405,000.
Alan Sass Hits the Rail
Alan Sass jammed it in preflop with A 6 and David Pham made the call with A K . A king on the flop and a blank on the turn had Sass drawing dead. Pham now sits with a slightly healthier 420,000.
Double Elimination For David Baker
Kirill Gerasimov was short stacked and moved all in holding K 5 . Evan McNiff tried to isolate behind him holding A-8 offsuit. Unfortunately for both players, David Baker woke up with pocket queens behind them and made the call.
The flop came A J 2 giving McNiff the best hand with a pair of aces and Gerasimov the nut flush draw. Visably upset, Baker hit his slim outs on the turn when the Q hit. The river was a safe 7 and Baker took out both players.
Marco Johnson Busts to Justin Bonomo
Marco Johnson was all in holding K 10 against the A Q of Justin Bonomo. The board didn’t help Johnson and he exited from the tournament floor. Bonomo now has 2.2 million.
Nam Le Busts In a Suck, Re-Suck Situation
Nam Le got it all in on a A K 10 flop holding A J against the K 10 of Dani Stern. The turn was great for Le when the J hit, but the K on the river sent Le to the rail. Stern is now sitting with 1.25 million.

Big Hands and Storylines:
McManus Making Moves
James McManus just pulled a bold, aggressive move to take down a pot pre-flop. As reported by Alan Jaffray, David Saab raised to 15,000 from the cutoff and Matt Matros re-raised to 50,000. Action folded to James McManus in the big blind who slid a stack of 30 orange chips into the middle of the table, making it 150,000 total. Both Saab and Matros folded, and McManus showed 8-4 offsuit for an audacious bluff. With that pot, McManus is at 820,000 on the day.
Robert Mizrachi Eliminated
Here are the details of the Robert Mizrachi elimination we mentioned in the prior update:
William Soffin raised from early position to 12,500 and was called by Robert Mizrachi in middle position. The flop came down J 9 4 and Sofin moved all-in for more than three times the pot. Mizrachi made the call and they turned up their hands:
Soffin: Q J
Mizrachi: K J
Mizrachi’s king kicker had him well in the lead. The turn was the 7 , leaving Soffin only three outs on the river. Soffin spiked one of those outs however – the Q – and Mizrachi was eliminated. Soffin’s aggressive play and good fortune have helped him run his stack up to 460,000.
Cliff Josephy Doubles, but runs into bad luck and is out
Just one hand after Mizrachi had been eliminated, the action continued at table Orange 28. Salomon Sutton raised to 16,000 from the button and was met by a quick all-in by Cliff “JohnnyBax” Josephy. The raise was for 40,000 more and Sutton made the call. It was a race situation: Josephy showed 10 10 and Sutton had A K . The flop was 10 7 6 and Josephy took a giant lead in the hand. When the turn 10 gave Josephy quads, he exclaimed, “That is a lot of tens.” The river was meaningless and Josephy doubled up to 120,000. Sutton would be eliminated later in the level.
Later on in the level, a player was all in on a 9-8-6 flop and Josephy made the call with pocket jacks. He was up against J-10, meaning he needed to avoid a queen or seven. A queen came on the turn, and the river was a blank. Josephy had to give his opponent 174,000 chips in the hand, and was left witht just 60,000 left. He later moved all in with K-J and was up against A-K of Dag Martin Mikkelsen. Josephy flopped an open-ended straight draw, but didn't get it and was eliminated.
Kirill Gerasimov Eliminated
Gus Hansen raised from under-the-gun and action folded around to Danny Mitnick in middle position. Mitnick tossed in a raise to 46,000. Without too much hesitation, Kirill Gerasimov moved all-in from the small blind for 130,000 total. Hansen folded his hand, leaving the table to dictate his thoughts into his voice recorder, and Mitnick made the call. The two turned up their hands:
Gerasimov: K K
Mitnick: A K
Gerasimov asked Hansen if he had folded an ace, but Hansen claimed to have a pocket pair. That was reinforced when the dealer laid out the flop: A A 10 . Gerasimov needed runner-runner kings to survive, but the turn and river were the 2 and 5 and he was eliminated.
The hand takes Mitnick up to 350,000.
Can Kings Hold One Time for Mark Vos?
After getting it all in pre-flop for his last 65,000 in chips with K Q , Andy Goetsch found himself dominated by Mark Vos’ K K . As the camera crews came over to capture the moment, Vos had something to say. “I just want it to be known that someone folded the A and Q ,” Vos jokingly mentioned, already fearing that he would be outdrawn. The Q 10 2 flop was a start, and Vos was quick to note that only the case queen remained in the deck. The A on the turn brought jabs from Vos’ tablemates that his opponent could now catch any of the remaining jacks to make a straight and chop the pot. Fortunately for Vos, a miracle occurred and the 3 fell on the river. Vos finished the hand with almost 500,000 in chips.
Schoenfeld gets set on river and is knocked out
Adam Schoenfeld made a reraise and then called all in with pocket tens. He later said he knew his opponent, Sigurd Eskeland, was weak when he moved all in. But his K J was still more or less a coinflip. But it was looking good when the flop was 8-7-6, and great after a nine came on the turn to give him a straight. He said "no set" over and over, and then the dealer went ahead and gave him a set. The ten on the river gave Eskeland a better straight and the pot.
Cantu makes call and knocks out player
Brandon Cantu called an all in reraise with pocket fours and found himself up against A-J. The board came 10-7-2-5-7 and Cantu's big stack -- he started the day with 710,000 -- got a bit bigger.
Joseph Busts Another
Chip leader Jeremy Joseph sent another player to the rails with a fortunate turn card. He raised from early position to 15,000, then Kenneth Lee announced all-in from the next seat. Lee had 70,500 in chips that went to the center of the table. Play was folded back to Joseph, who was able to call with Q 10 thanks to his massive chip stack. Lee held 7 7 and led after the flop of 5 4 2 , but the 10 on the turn vaulted Joseph into the lead, and he stayed there when the 6 came on the river.
Rosen Eliminated
Jamie Rosen, who suffered a major blow to his chip stack earlier in the day, was eliminated when his A Q went all-in against an opponent’s K K and couldn’t improve. The board ran out J 9 4 6 2 .

Brewer: A 10
Costner: A 9

Sverre Sundbo Eliminated in 7th Place ($134,942)
Ryan D’Angelo raised to 125,000 before the flop and Sverre Sundbo reraised all in for just under 950,000. D’Angelo insta-called the raise.
Sundbo: Q 6
D’Angelo: A Q
Board: A 5 4 10 5
D’Angelo had Sundbo dominated before the flop and with an ace on board, Sundbo was drawing dead on the turn. D’Angelo gets another strike in the kill column as Sverre Sundbo was eliminated in 7th place ($134,942).
Kirill Gerasimov Eliminated in 6th Place ($177,111)

Big Hands:
The Dreaded River Gets Kinzler
Kirill Gerasimov moved all in from the small blind in attempt to take Eddie Kinzler's big blind and the antes. Kinzler looked down and said, "Gotta gamble, right?" He made the call and showed 4 4 , and he was against Gerasimov's K 7 .
The board ran Q 5 2 A and Kinzler was one card away from knocking out Gerasimov. But the river was the dreaded K and Kinzler was knocked down to just 41,000 in chips.
Kinzler Eliminated in 11th Place ($46,386)

Big Hands:
Rome is Burning, Crain Gone
Daniel Rome is playing hot right now. While reaching to put in a raise, Eric Crain told Rome he would give him a hug if he folded. Seeing that Rome was still reaching, Crain changed his tune and told him he'd give him a huge if he raised. The offer didn't work and Rome raised to 65,000. Action folded to Crain who looked down at his cards and announced he was all in. Rome called and showed A 3 and was trailing Crain's 5 5 . But Rome hit the flop of A-Q-Q and the river 2 and king couldn't save Crain from elimination.
Shelton Gets Some Luck, Then Runs Into Gerasimov's Jacks
All in and called, Kenneth Shelton showed K 10 and was in a flip situation against Eric Crain's 5 5 . RIght out the door was the 5 so things didn't look good for Shelton. The flop finished with 4 3 , and Shelton could catch no cards to win the pot. But he could have runners to chop it. The turn was the 7 . Shelton was counting his chips to give them to Crain and not even looking at the board when the 6 hit on the river. The table's reaction made Shelton look at the straight on the board, and he couldn't help but laugh as they chopped the pot.
A few hands later Shelton moved all in and Kirill Gerasimov called from the big blind. Shelton hoped for a coin flip but his 6 6 was in bad shape against Gerasimov's J J . The board ran J 8 5 2 A and Shelton was left crippled whiel Gerasimov doubled up.
Shelton Eliminated
Marco Johnson raised to 61,000 and Kirill Gerasimov raised to 180,000 total. A crippled Kenneth Shelton pushed his remaining chips in and Johnson mucked his hand, leaving Gerasimov and Shelton heads up. Gerasimov showed A 10 and Shelton showed J 5 . The board ran K 4 4 2 8 and Shelton was eliminated thanks to Gerasimov's ace-high.

Note: Players are now on a 20 minute break. Action will resume at 2:20 p.m.
Blinds: 100-200
Entrants: 375 (Approx.)
Eliminations: Freddy Deeb, Bruno Fitoussi, Andrew Black, Jamie Gold, Eric Froehlich, Barry Greenstein
BIg Hands and Storylines:
"Woo-eee, I Bluffed One"
Seat 4 raised to 600 and Daniel Negreanu and the player in seat 7 made the call. The flop was 6 4 2 and action was checked to Negreanu who bet 1,200. Seat 7 made the call but the original raiser folded. The turn was the 9 and Negreanu bet out 3,200. Seat 7 again made the call and the players saw the river 6 . Negreanu, who had been eating his lunch between tossing out chips (a special prepared meal from mamma, of course) led out for 4,000 and seat 7 finally folded his hand.
Negreanu showed K 3 Q 10 for a busted flush draw and said, "Woo,eee, I bluffed one!" as he scooped the large pot.
Greenstein Busts Against Quads
On a board of K-Q-10-Q-X Barry Greenstein was all in holding a huge full house with K-K in his hand. Unfortunately for Greenstein, when he filled up on the turn his opponent had hit quad queens. Greenstein was eliminated in dramatic fashion, but he won't have time to dwell on the bustout for long, as he'll be playing in the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E final table at 3 p.m.
Gerasimov Bets Out The Shark
Kirill Gerasimov, who will play in the final table for event no. 48 at 3 p.m. called the player in seat 4's 1,000 raise along with Humberto Brenes. The flop of 9 6 2 was checked to Gerasimov who bet 3,000. Brenes sat chomping his gum and eventually he and seat 4 folded. After the hand Gerasimov told Brenes he thought he was going to do his trademark stand and motion all in. Gerasimov mimiced the movement he was talking about and Brenes said, "Near. Very near."
Deeb Eliminated By Bigger Flush
Freddy Deeb's opponent bet 600 on a flop of Q 8 5 and Deeb made the call. His opponent led out for 1,800 on the 4 turn and Deeb again called. When the river brought the 3 , his opponent bet 2,100 to put Deeb all in. Deeb made the call and showed 10 9 9 8 for a flush, but his opponent had A 7 A 5 for a bigger flush and Deeb was eliminated.
Better Two Pair Beats Minieri
Dario Minieri bet 1,100 on a flop of 10 6 4 and the player in seat 6 made the call. Both players checked the 10 turn and again on the 7 river. Seat 7 said, "Two pair." Minieri smiled and said, "Two pair." But when seat 7 turned over K K Minieri nodded and mucked his cards.
Matusow was talking during the entire hand about how David Benyamine is considered the best PLO player around. It wasn't clear who he was talking to.
Focussing On The Other Game
Many of the European players in the tournament are split between the poker they're playing and the soccer being shown on the television in the Amazon room.

Board: K 8 6 8 5
Costner was dominated before the flop and needed some help from the board to stay alive. That help never came and Gabe Costner was eliminated in 8th place ($103,315).
Ryan D’Angelo raised to 150,000 and Gerasimov came over the top and shoved all in. D’Angelo called.
Gerasimov: J J
D’Angelo: A Q
Board: 6 5 5 7 A
Gerasimov certainly got it all in with the best hand, holding up until the river where D’Angelo spiked an ace. Kirill Gerasimov was eliminated in 6th place ($177,111) as Ryan D’Angelo gets his third konck-out of the night.

Cards are now in the air for event no. 48 ($2,000 NLHE). Play will begin in Level 23 with blinds of 20,000-40,000 with a 5,000 ante. Marco Johnson leads the pack with 2,135,000, followed by Gabe Costner with 1,475,000, and Kirill Gerasimov with 1,145,000.
Kinzler doubled up shortly after being crippled, but he again got all in - this time against both Ryan D'Angelo and Gerasimov. The board of 10 10 6 5 3 was checked down. D'Angelo showed king high, Gerasimov showed ace-high and Kinzler, who had moved all in blind showed Q-2 for just a queen high. Gerasimov's ace high took the pot and Kinzler was eliminated.

13th Place - Eric Crain ($35,843)
14th Place - Kenneth Shelton ($35,843)
15th Place - Denys Drobyna ($35,843)

16th – Aliaksandr Dzianisau
17th – Jan Suchanek
18th – Kirill Gerasimov
19th – William Kohler
20th – Thang Duc Nguyen
Big Hands and Storylines:
Full House Over Full House
Jan Suchanek got his money into the pot with fours full of aces and assumed he was ahead of his opponent, who was showing only a pair of queens and two low cards. Suchanek was quite surprised to see his opponent show up with a full house of his own: queens full of fives. With that, Suchanek was eliminated in 17th place, taking home $11,040.
What Would King Solomon Do?
A shortstacked Barry Greenstein was eliminated by Steve Sung, leading Greenstein to begin his post-bustout routine of taking out his book and signing it for his assassin. Howard Lederer leaned over from the other table and asked, “What happens when it’s a split pot?” This garnered a nice chuckle out of Chris Ferguson, but Greenstein did not seem to be in a laughing mood. Perhaps in the future Barry should bring two copies of his book to high-low events.
The Flying Dutchman
Marcel Luske just scooped a massive pot when he made a six-high straight and six low in a four-way pot. Luske was all-in on 6th street and action checked around on 7th street, so Luske scooped the main pot, and the miniscule side-pot went elsewhere. “Gimme all da money.... except the side-pot,” exclaimed Luske. Even without the side-pot the Dutchman is up to a healthy 250,000.
And We Play On
The players just voted nearly unanimously in favor of playing down to 8 players instead of stopping for the night. The lone dissenter was Allen Cunningham, who, unlike the rest of the remaining players, does not seem too excited about the $10,000 Omaha high-low event beginning tomorrow.

Eliminations:
25th – Jeff Burdsall
26th – J.W. Smith
27th – Frank Thompson
28th – Joe Tehan
Big Hands and Storylines:
Pop Goes The Bubble
Jeff Burdsall is our bubble boy in event 33. He got his last 10,000 chips in on 3rd street against David Benyamine in a very tight matchup. Burdsall had (A )(6 )5 and Benyamine had (A )(4 )8 . When the cards were on the felt, it was Benyamine’s ace-to-five straight – A 4 8 3 2 K 5 – that took down the pot. Though we are now in the money, don’t expect the speed of play to pick up too much. There are only a couple of short stacks at the moment; most of the players have fairly healthy stack sizes.
Hasan Habib narrowly missed going out in 25th place when he was all-in with (9 )(5 )A A against Kirill Gerasimov’s (3 )(3 )8 8 . Habib was granted a reprieve when he paired his 9 on 6th street, making him a better two pair and doubling him up to 28,000.
A few hands earlier at the same table, Barry Greenstein ended J.W. Smith’s night early (...at 12:45 a.m.) when he made a full house – fives full of eights – crushing any hopes that Smith had of making the money in this event.
Ganger (in) Control
Not all of the news in the last level was about short stacks busting out. Some players like Doug Ganger made their moves toward the top of the leaderboard. In a hand against Chris Ferguson and Jasper Lee, Doug Ganger made a straight on 5th street and both Lee and Ferguson called him down until 6th street. On 7th street, with boards reading:
Ganger: 4 5 3 9
Lee: 8 6 5 Q
Ferguson: Q 3 Q 10
Ganger bet again. Lee folded this time, and after a good bit of staring at the felt and shaking his head, Ferguson made the call. Ganger flipped 7 6 9 and scooped the pot, bringing him to 107,000. Ferguson has 100,000 left, and Lee was eliminated on the very next hand.

Big Hands and Storylines:
Matusow Motivated
Annie Duke and Mike Matusow were having a lighthearted conversation about how if they could just stay at their table without it breaking for a few hours longer they could sneak into the money. Matusow then added, “I want to win.” He continued, “I just know that every year somebody wins 2 bracelets, and I want to be the one that does it.” He’ll need a bit of help to accomplish that goal though, as he has a below average stack of 35,000. Duke, with 28,000, is in need of some aid too.
Cunningham Scoops Rasmussen
Allen Cunningham just took a nice pot off of Thayer “thay3r” Rasmussen as his broadway straight took the high side of the pot and neither player could make a low:
Cunningham: J 10 K K
Rasmussen: 6 3 9 7
Cunningham brought in with the J and called Rasmussen’s raise. On 4th and 5th streets Cunningham check-called, but on 6th street, pairing his king, he bet out. Rasmussen called the bet and both players checked 7th street. Cunningham showed (A )(J )Q ) for a broadway straight (to go along with two pair) and Rasmussen mucked his hand. Cunningham is now at 57,000 while Rasmussen is left with only 15,000.
Everything Coming Up Roses for Violette
Cyndy Violette, who already has a World Series bracelet in Stud 8/b, just busted a very short-stacked opponent. They got their money all-in on 3rd street. Though her opponent made a straight on 6th street, Violette made aces full of fours on 7th street to take down the entire pot and eliminate a player. Violette is sitting at about average with 50,000.
Kill Kirill
Barry Greenstein just won a small pot against Kirill Gerasimov. With Barry’s board reading 5 4 6 , he fired out against Kirill’s A Q J on both 4th and 5th streets. Though Kirill called the first barrel, he laid his hand down following the second. Gerasimov still has the bigger stack though, his 75,000 is more than double Greenstein’s 34,000.

Big Hands:
Singer Third in Two Horse Race
Allen Cunningham had 10 10 7 showing, but he was content to check the action to David Singer, who led the betting with A 5 2 . Kirill Gerasimov also tailed along, showing A K 2 . Singer bet 600 and drew two calls, then did the same on sixth street after he added the 10 . Cunningham added the J and Gerasimov the 7 . The players all checked seventh street, and Cunningham showed another seven for two pair, 10s and sevens, while Gerasimov had 8-4-3 in the hole for a low. Singer, despite the promising start, drew a blank.
Dangerous Duke
It was heads-up after seat 6 made the bring-in with the 3 and Annie Duke raised to 400 with the K . Fourth street brought action as both added aces. Duke paired her king on fifth street to lead, but then seat 6 drew another ace on sixth street for a higher pair. Seat 6 showed 3 A 9 A while Duke held K A K 4 . Seventh street was checked, and Duke took the pot down with a second pair in the hole.
Battle of the Voices
Perhaps as well known for their poker analysis on television as they are for their playing, Norman Chad and Howard Lederer went to battle in level 6. It was 400 four ways after Lederer drew the A , and Chad was next to call with the 6 . Two other players also saw fourth street, during which Lederer added the 10 and Chad the 8 . Yet it was seat 4 who tossed in a raise to 800 with the K 8 showing, which both Chad and Lederer called. Lederer made it three diamonds with the 8 on fifth straight, and led out for 800. Chad, now with 6 8 J , called, as did seat 4. Sixth street brought another round of betting, and left Lederer with A 10 8 7 . Chad showed Q J 8 6 , and seat 4 showed K Q 8 4 . After seventh street, Chad showed his hole cards to be 9-7-5, good for a straight made on fifth street. Lederer missed his flush draw, but managed a low with A-2-4 in the hole. Seat 4 had a good seat to watch his chips get divided.
Booth Second Best
Brad Booth appeared destined for a chopped pot and had invested accordingly in a heads up battle with the player in seat 3. Booth was showing 9 9 8 8 for two pair, while his opponent appeared heading for the low, showing A 3 4 5 . The 3 on sixth street did bring a straight into play, but in the end Booth only had 5-4-2 to go with his two pair, while his opponent held A-10-4 for two higher pair and scooped the pot.
