James Woods Hits the Rail Too Early
Jun 04, '07
Level 4 brings us several more eliminations as the blinds increased to $75-$150 with betting limits of $150-$300. Short stacks were in the position of making a forced all-in bet or call as the blinds started to come their way and James Woods was no different. As if he didn’t have a hard enough time keeping a low profile, he drew a seat directly facing the rail. Perhaps it was a cruel joke played by the tournament staff, or possibly just a case of sheer fate, either way, Woods had a hard time concentrating with the onslaught of would-be paparazzi hugging the rail.
Down to his last few chips, James Woods moves all-in for his last $275 and is called by the player in the big blind. Woods flips over A

, and Woods gets up to leave. Confused and perhaps equally frustrated, Woods had thought that he in fact lost the hand and was already heading to the rail when the table called him back to tell him that he won. Woods runs back, “Oh wait…I had the ace”, he says. “I was so ready to lose that hand.” Everyone gets a good laugh as Woods doubles up and reclaims his seat.
He wouldn’t be sitting down for long when he moves all-in once again, this time with K

James Woods wasn’t the only household name that wouldn’t be making to the dinner break. Joe Sebok found himself all-in in a pot against William Chen. Sebok raises to Chen who re-raises from the button and Sebok calls all-in. Sebok flips over A

Chen raises from early position and the cutoff makes the call before Joe Sebok raises all-in for his $400. Chen then re-raises the remaining player all-in for his last $600. The cutoff calls and flips over J
