McEvoy: 10 10
Opponent: Q Q

Three Players All In
Three players announced they were all in. One held the K K , another exposed the Q Q and the third tabled the A K . The board ran out Q 2 2 A 4 , as the pocket queens tripled up, the ace-king won a large side pot the pocket kings lost a substantial chunk.

Notable Eliminations:
Tom Dwan Sr.
Lacey Jones
Big Hands:
Griffin On The Good Side of The Flip, Eliminates Opponent
A player under-the-gun raised to 900 and there were a few callers. The action got to Gavin Griffin in the big blind who three-bet him and the under the gun caller instantly moved in the rest of his stack for about 10,000. The action folded back to Griffin who called instantly.
The two players were off to the races as Griffin showed A K and was up against the Q Q . The board ran out 10 J 4 5 Q giving Griffin the nut straight and the pot.
Alex Jacob Makes a Value Bet With the Worst Hand
From early position, Alex Jacob raised to 750 and the player directly to his left made the call. Everybody else got out of the way and the flop was 2 2 10 and both players checked. The turn was the 5 and both players checked again.
The river was the A and Jacobs bet 1,000. His opponent sighed and tossed in the call. Jacobs turned over A 6 and was out-kicked by his opponent who showed A J .
Senior Durrrr Eliminated
Tom Dwan Sr., father of high stakes player Tom “Durrrr” Dwan, has been eliminated from the main event as his A K was all in preflop against his opponent’s A A .
The board bricked out for Dwan and he was sent home in the third level. Hopefully his son will have some pointers for him when he gets home.
Must Be Nice to be Named Jeff Lisandro
Jeff Lisandro was a part of a six-way limped pot. The flop came down K 8 5 and action was checked to Lisandro. He bet 700 and the player in seat 1 called. Everyone else mucked and the turn was the 6 . Lisandro firqed 2,100 and it was called again by seat 1. The river was the 2 and Lisandro thought long and hard on how much to bet.
He finally decided on 4,000 and the call was made. Lisandro then tabled 8 8 for a flopped set and seat 1 mucked. Lisandro took the pot and was around 90,000.
A little later on, the action is picked up on a flop of Q 7 10 . The small blind led out for 3,100 and is met with a raise all in of 7,400. Lisandro then puts out enough chips to put the original bettor all in.
The player then goes into the tank for several minutes. He pointed to the 7 and asked Lisandro if he had a set. After three minutes or so, he begrudgingly tossed in his chips. Lisandro turned up A A , but was behind both players as the original bettor had Q 10 and the shorter all in player had Q Q .
The turn was the J , giving Lisandro a straight draw and a flush draw and the river hit Lisandro square in the face as the K fell, giving Lisandro a straight and the pot. He now has crossed the 100,000 chip mark and very well could be the biggest stack in the room.
Deuce-Four Is Good
Isabelle Mercier limped in preflop along with four other players. The flop then fell 7 7 4 and the small blind led out with 800. Mercier and the button were the only callers. The turn was the K and all three players checked. They did the same when the Q fell on the river.
The small blind then showed 2 4 for two pair and Mercier mucked, as did the button. Mercier was still doing well with around 70,000.
“What A Game”
After a flop of K 8 2 , the small blind checked the action to Ylon Schwartz. He bet 1,025 and the small blind called. The turn was the 6 and action was checked again to Schwartz. He bet 2,425 and the small blind called again. The river was the A and Schwartz bet 5,025 after it was checked to him again.
The small blind called and Schwartz tabled A K for top two pair. The small blind then showed A K for the same hand and after all of those fireworks, the players chopped the pot. “What a game,” Schwartz commented after the hand. Schwartz was at 31,000.
The Magic Man Takes On The Prince
Scotty Nguyen raised to 900 from the button preflop and Antonio Tarver made the call from the small blind. The big blind mucked and the two players saw a flop of 7 4 3 . Tarver led out with 1,500 and the action was on Nguyen. “You outflopped me, baby,” Nguyen told Tarver. He then mucked A Q face up and Tarver took the pot. Tarver was a little under 15,000 while Nguyen was at 47,000.
Watkinson With The Flush
After a flop of Q Q 5 , the player in seat 2 bet 1,200 and Antonio Tarver mucked from the button. Lee Watkinson made the call from the big blind and the 7 fell on the turn. Both players checked and the 4 dropped on the river. Watkinson led out for 3,000 and seat 2 made the call.
Watkinson tabled 9 3 for a rivered flush and took the pot. He was at 63,000.

Carlos Mortensen
Big Hands:
Haxton Takes Monster Pot Off Toto
With the board showing K 8 6 3 and already over 60,000 in the pot, Isaac Haxton checked to Toto Leonidas who bet out 22,000. Haxton thought briefly before pushing a long tower of “1,000” chips into the middle to make the call, building the pot to well over 100,000.
The river was the 5 and Haxton checked again. Leonidas eyed Haxton’s stack for awhile and then decided to check as well. Haxton then turned over Q Q and Leonidas simply mucked his hand. Haxton took the huge pot and his stack improved to well over 200,000 in chips. Leonidas was down to 120,000.
Another Double Up For Rheem
The player on the button raised to 8,000 preflop. Action was next on Chino Rheem in the small blind and he immediately announced he was all in. The big blind folded and the button called. Rheem then turned over K J and was trailing his opponent’s A Q . That all changed on the flop as it came down K 8 7 , giving Rheem top pair. He wasn’t in the clear yet though as his opponent had the nut flush draw. The turn was the J giving Rheem two pair but giving his opponent a Broadway draw. The river was the 3 and Rheem survived another all in and was around 80,000.
Medic Takes One Off Jacob, Then Goes Bust
Alex Jacob raised to 7,200 preflop from the button and Nenad Medic made the call from the big blind. The flop came down A Q 2 and Medic checked. Jacob fired 11,000 and Medic made the call. The turn was the 7 and both players checked. The river was the 10 and Medic led out this time, betting 21,900. Jacob tanked for a long time and then announced a call. Medic turned over A 10 and Jacob quietly mucked. He was down to just 50,000 while Medic was around 110,000.
A few moments later, Medic lost the majority of his stack when he ran into the pocket kings of his opponent. On the next hand, Medic moved his short stack into the middle and was called by J.C. Alvarado. Medic showed A-J and Alvarado turned over K-Q. Unfortunately for Medic, the flop came down J-10-9, giving Alvarado the straight. Medic failed to improve on the following streets and the defending champion of this event was eliminated.

Big Hands and Storylines:
Sklansky Clings to Life
It’s been a slow day for David Sklansky, and it hasn’t picked up any steam in the final level. He has been hovering around the 10,000 chip count for the past few hours, and couldn’t do anything with his blinds in a recent rotation. As big blind, he saw a player in middle position raise to 1050. Sklansky, already in for 400, made the call. After the flop came J 8 7 , he folded to a bet of 1,550. He then limped for another 400 the next hand as small blind, but dodged out of the way when the flop came 5 3 2 . As it turned out, a player pushed all-in with the Q 9 , was called by a set of fives, then the board ran out J A for the running flush. Sklansky then folded his button and now sits at 9,500.
Binger and Singer in a Zinger of a Humdinger
In the blue section of the Amazon Room, one table became particularly stacked when Card Player P.O.Y. contender Michael Binger joined 2008 World Series of Poker bracelet winner David Singer’s table. The media hovered close by to capture any and all action between the two notable players. In one hand, Binger raised to a total of 1,100 from under the gun, and Singer called as the player next to act. All other players folded, and the flop came down 8 6 5 . Binger continued his aggression by firing a bet of 1,800 into the pot, causing Singer to release his hand. Singer remained one of the tournament’s largest stacks with over 100,000 in chips, while Binger hovered around 35,000 throughout most of the level.
Jacob turns trips and collects more chips
With the board A Q J J , Alex Jacob bet 2,100 and was called immediately by his opponent. The river was the 7 and Jacob bet 4,600. This time his opponent took a moment to think it over. but he made the call in the end, and Jacob flipped over J 10 to take the pot. After the hand Jacob has roughly 20,000 chips.
Awada dodges disaster
With the board 8 7 2 , Joe Awada raised his opponent's bet of 2,000 to 5,000. His opponent reraised all in, and Awada was clearly frustrated with his situation. He folded J 8 and after initially hesitating his opponent flipped over 8 8 . But he can't feel too good about his fold; Awada has just 12,000 chips and is at risk of elimination any time he plays a hand.
When You're Hot . . .
A player in late position raised to 1200 and Brad Booth, on the button, made the call, as did the big blind. The flop came Q J 9 , and after the first two players checked Booth fired out 3500. The big blind called and the original raiser folded. The 3 fell on the turn, and the big blind checked. Booth, perhaps sensing a trap, checked behind. The river was the 10 , creating a four-card straight on board. The big blind checked and Booth bet 5000. The big blind, obviously frustrated by the river, called and flipped over J J for a set. That was suddenly in second place however, as Booth held 8 7 for the bottom end straight.

Jacob Under the Heat
The table featuring both Alex Jacob and Clonie Gowen is the next due to be broken in the main event, and it can’t come soon enough for Jacob, now down to below 10,000 in chips. After folding both his blinds and the button in the face of raises, Jacob was finally one from the cut-off when he opened the proceedings for 1100. The button called, and that may have persuaded both the small blind and big blind to also look Jacob up. The flop came K J 5 , and after both blinds checked Jacob bet 2000 into the pot. The button folded, as did the small blind, but the big blind check-raised all-in, which would have cost Jacob another 5000. With only 8500 in chips remaining, Jacob laid his hand down.
While, Jacob may be happy to change tables, Gowen is likely to be disappointed as she has profited from the situation. As well, David Baker is also sorry to move along, having amassed 145,000 in chips from the current arrangement.
Nenad's Kings Dead, Still Way Ahead
After taking a break from his solitaire game on his iPod, Nenad Medic raised to 1,200 from middle position. The player next to act reraised to a total of 3,800, and the action folded around back to Medic. Without delay, Medic tossed enough orange 5,000 chips into the pot to put his opponent all in. His opponent went into the tank, voicing his concern over the strength of Medic’s hand. After several minutes, the player made the call and Medic flipped over K K . “That’s what I thought,” his opponent said as he turned over A Q . The Q J 7 flop brought some hope for the player, and the A on the turn was just enough to overtake the kings. The 4 on the river failed to improve Medic, and he paid off his opponent to the tune of 6,900 in chips. Despite the loss, Medic still had over 60,000 in chips during the level.
Board allows Mahmood to take away pot
Ayaz Mahmood raised to 1,500 from early position and a player reraised to 3,000. Mahmood called and checked in the dark on the flop. The flop came A 7 3 and the preflop reraiser checked. The 4 came on the turn and Mahmood bet 4,000. His opponent called and the river was the 4 . Mahmood now bet 6,000 and his opponent folded K K face up. Mahmood flashed the K and took down the pot.
Singer takes a hit
David Singer limped into the pot from middle position and saw the flop with both blinds. The flop came A 9 7 and a woman in the small blind bet out 700. The big blind folded and Singer made the call. The turn was the T and she bet 1,200. This time Singer raised to 3,600. She called, and when the river came the 8 she bet out 5,000. Singer thought it over for a couple minutes and ultimately made the call. His opponent flipped over Q J and took down the pot. The small hit to Singer's stack dropped him to around 100,000 chips.
Overbet puts Mercier to the test
Following a flop of A 7 6 Isabelle Mercier bet 1,850 and was raised to 4,000. She made the call and the turn was the J . She checked and her opponent moved all in for 18,025, roughly twice as much as was in the pot. The odd bet had Mercier frustrated, and her opponent -- who had pulled the hood of his sweatshirt over his head and ducked his head down to completely hide -- was offering no clues. Ultimately she folded her hand and opted not to risk any of her remaining 35,000 chips.
Sklansky gets some breathing room
After a player in middle position limped into the pot David Sklansky raised to 1,500. The limper called and the players saw a T 8 2 flop. After his opponent checked, Sklansky moved all in for 8,800 and took down the pot. After the hand he had just under 13,000 chips, about one-third of the average at this point.

Hellmuth and Tonnellier Tangle Again
Ed Tonnellier: 7 10 9 K
Phil Hellmuth: 10 6 A Q
“Omaha” Ed Tonnellier completed with the 7 and Hellmuth raised with the 10 . Tonnellier put in a third bet and Hellmuth called. Tonnellier bet out on fourth street and was called by Hellmuth. Hellmuth was dealt an ace on fifth street and opted to check to Tonnellier, who bet. Hellmuth called. “OmahaEd” drew a king on sixth street and bet after Hellmuth checked. As Hellmuth sorted through his chips he asked, “You hit three kings?” Tonnellier replied, “If I hit three kings then why are you calling?” Hellmuth, never content to let anyone else get the last word in, said, “You might have aces. I hope you have aces,” before making the call. Hellmuth checked on seventh street, Tonnellier bet again, and Hellmuth folded. After the hand, Tonnellier showed his set of kings.
Hellmuth has 190,000 and Tonnellier has 120,000.
Ramdin Gets Hang’d
Tommy Hang: A 6 K 3
Victor Ramdin: Q K 10 9
The action picks up on fourth street where Hang bets into Ramdin and garners a call. The action plays out the same on fifth street. Hang slows down on sixth street when Ramdin’s board shows four to a straight, and both players check. Both players check on seventh street as well, and Hang turns over an ace for a pair of aces. Ramdin can only muster a pair of queens, and the pot is Hang’s.
After the pot, Hang was up to 60,000 and Ramdin was on life support with only 12,000.

Keith Sexton Doubles Up
Keith Sexton got all in on the turn against Giovanni Rizzo. The board read A J 9 2 and the two turned over their cards:
Rizzo: A K K 4
Sexton: A Q 3 2
The river was the 3 and Sexton avoided Rizzo’s slew of outs. Sexton doubled up to 60,000. Rizzo was knocked down to 20,000 and would be eliminated a short time later.

Binger Happy To Chop
Michael Binger bet 2,000 on a board of J 10 6 5 and was called by the player in seat 3. The 9 hit on the river and both players slowed down and checked. Binger showed A 5 and smiled when he saw his opponent's A 5 . They chopped the pot and Binger sat with around 16,000 in chips.
Appleman Gets Away
After check-calling his opponent on a flop of J 5 5 , Mickey Appleman bet out 2,000 on the 3 turn. His opponent tanked and eventually raised to 4,000. Appleman mucked and cut his losses.
Omaha 8
"What a card on the river, huh?"
On board of 3 2 8 5 Joe Hachem bet 2,000 and was called by the player in seat 5. When the 3 hit on the river seat 5 immediately bet out into Hachem. The man from down under thought about what to do and reluctantly made the call. His opponent turned over a big hand - A 10 7 9 for the nut flush and 7-low.
"What a card on the river, huh?" Hachem said in defeat, and mucked his hand.

Finally A Good Hand
Alex Jacob raised and the player in seat 2 made the call. When Jacobs got the 5 on fourth street, seat 2 paired and mucked. Jacob showed his down cards. Allen Cunningham commented that finally somebody had a big hand. Their hands were:

Seat 2: 4 4 (x-x)
Jacob showed he was drawing at the nuts.

Show Them What They’re Playing For...
An announcement was just made by the tournament director, and with a field of 803 players starting the tournament, first-prize will be $256,412. This is nearly $100,000 more than last year’s first-place finisher took home, in large part due to the fact that the buy-in has been increased by 50%.
The Table of Death
With a few more than 400 players remaining the tables here in the Amazon Room (and some in the Brasilia Room) have begun to get more saturated with pros. No table is a better example of this than table 28. Sitting there earlier were David Sklansky, David Chiu, and Brian Micon. They were just joined by Victor Ramdin and Mike Matusow, whose chatter has been non-stop since arriving despite having only 2,800 chips.
Omaha
Jacob Busts Another
Alex Jacob raised pre-flop from early position and the only caller was a short-stacked player in the blinds. The flop came J 8 3 , and the short stack check-called a bet from Jacob. Jacob’s opponent was all-in after a 3 on the turn and the players showed:
Jacob: A A 7 6
Opponent: A K 10 9
The river was a harmless 8 and Jacob claimed another scalp. This one helped escalate his chip stack to 8,000.
Stud
Ramdin in Charge
Victor Ramdin: A 6 A 8
David Chiu: 5 8 5 2
David Chiu completed on third street and Victor Ramdin and another player made the call. Ramdin bet fourth street and was raised by Chiu. The third player folded, and Ramdin made the call. Both players open-paired up on fifth street, but Ramdin’s aces were far scarier than Chiu’s fives. Ramdin bet and Chiu called. Action was the same on the last two streets, and after the final call Chiu asked, “Jacks up good?” Ramdin turned over (8h)(6s)(5c). Jacks up were, in fact, no good. This pot propelled Ramdin to the heights of the chip leaders with 11,000. Chiu is not hurting for chips himself, with 7,600.

Alex Jacob: K 10 8 J

Alex Jacob and a short-stacked opponent went to fourth street with a K and 10 showing respectively. On fourth street, Jacob bet and his opponent called, leaving himself only 525 behind. Jacob bet again on 6th street and the other player contemplated for a while, picked up his final few chips and said, “What am I going to do with these anyway?” He tossed them in for the call, but would regret it almost immediately. After 7th street was dealt, Jacob showed (A )(Q )(J ) for the straight. The pot gives Jacob 5,200 early on day 1.
Small But Important Pot Gives Ferguson Some Breathing Room
Chris Ferguson: A 5 3 8
Opponent: Q 6 4 A
Ferguson completed on third street and his opponent raised. Ferguson made the call and the two players saw fourth street. On fourth street Ferguson checked and his opponent bet. Ferguson made the call. On fifth street Ferguson again checked, and his opponent put in the last of his chips. Ferguson made the call and the two turned over:
Ferguson: (K )(K )A 5 3 8
Opponent: (J )(10 )Q 6 4 A
Ferguson’s opponent said, “Well, I started out okay,” as he flipped over his cards. His river card was the 7 and he was eliminated mid-way through level 3. This pot, though not particularly large, was important for Ferguson as it represented a sizeable portion of his stack. He now sits with 2,600 in chips.

Andy Bloch Gets Set-up
Andy Bloch: A 5 J K
Opponent: Q J Q 8
A player completed to 100 and Andy Bloch raised to 200. The player called and each player was dealt a fourth card. Bloch bet out and his opponent called. The hand switched gears when the opposing player was given a pair of open queens. As a result, he bet out on the final three streets, getting called all the way down by Bloch. Bloch’s showed his set when he flipped over his Q and that was good enough to win the pot. Bloch’s stack took a bit of a hit and now he has 3,000.

Jacob Eliminated
Before the flop, Samuel Trickett raised to 30,000, only to have Alex Jacob reraise to 100,000 behind him. Trickett made the call, and the two players went to the flop, which came 7 7 6 . Trickett checked, Jacob fired out 125,000, and Tricket check raised for another 300,000 on top. Jacob moved all in, and Trickett made the call, having Jacob covered by a handful of chips. Jacob showed 9 9 , and was in bad shape against Trickett's 10 10 . The turn brought the A , and the river an unnecessary 10 , sealing Jacob's fate and sending him to the rail.
Will The Thrill
Richard Lyndaker opened with a raise to 46,000, and was reraised by David Kitai to a total of 146,000. Will "The Thrill" Failla then moved all in for an additional 117,000. Lyndaker dropped out of the pot. While Kitai contemplated his next move, Failla looked at him and said "You know I don't bluff." The flop improved both players, coming Q 9 4 , but Foltyn failed to improve further, the turn and river coming 8 6 . Notable Hands:
So much for the passive and cautionary play that dominated the last level. As soon as the blinds moved up, a slew of eliminations ensued, and a number of large pots were shipped across the felt.
Forsman Forsaken
Jan Forsman moved all in before the flop and was called by Davidi Kitai. Forsman held A 5 and was dominated by Kitai's A K . Forsman improved to trips by the turn, the board reading Q Q 2 Q 10 , but Kitai's hand held up to win him the pot and send Forsman to the rail.
So Long Liu
J.J. Liu, the last woman standing, was all in preflop holding A 2 against Steve Ware's 7 7 . Ware had a bit of a sweat on the flop, which came 10 7 4 , giving Liu a flush draw to go with her overcard. The turn and river, however, were harmless, bringing 5 6 , sending Liu home to hang up her hat.
Alex Jacob Gets Chips
After riding a short stack for much of the day, Alex Jacob just caught a few hands that have given him some ammunition to work with for the rest of the evening. First, he doubled up through Paul Foltyn holding 3 3 , getting everything in before the flop against Foltyn's A K . The board ran out 10 6 4 5 7 , and Jacob's pair backdoored into a straight to secure his first double up.
A few hands later, Jacob was all in against big slick once again, this time holding 7 7 against Martin Wiklund's A K . This time, he managed to do one better than a rivered straight, flopping a full house on a board that showed 7 6 6 10 3 . Wiklund was eliminated, and Jacob's stack expanded to nearly 700,000.
ElkY Goes Up, ElkY Comes Down, ElkY Goes Home
Bertrand Grospellier raised to 25,000 from the button, and was called by both of the blinds. The flop came J 7 3 , and action checked around to ElkY, who bet 46,000. He was called only by Jason Gray. Both players checked the turn, the A , and Jason Gray checked again on the river, which brought the 3 . Grospellier fired out a big bet of 127,000, and after some deliberation Gray called, only to muck his hand in disgust when ElkY rolled over 3 6 .
ElkY lost many of those chips before the end of the level, many of them to Tom Lutz. Lutz raised to 25,000 from the button, and Grospellier called from the big blind. Grospellier check-called Lutz's flop bet of 36,000 on a board of A 3 2 . He then also check-called Lutz's bet on the turn, 7 , for 75,000. The river brought the K , and ElkY made one last check-call, this time for 183,000, only to muck his hand when Lutz rolled over the 8 4 . Grospellier dropped below 400,000 after the hand.
Grospellier lost the rest of his stack near the end of the round. He raised from the button to 27,000 and was called by both of the blinds. When checked to on the flop of J 8 4 , he bet again, this time for 42,000. Only Richard Lyndaker called. Lyndaker check called ElkY's bet of 50,000 on the turn, 7 , and also check called on the river, 8 , after Grospellier shoved for his last 100,000. Lyndaker showed A A , and his passive play earned him a massive pot against Grospellier's A J , which sent him to the rail in 16th place.

Big Hands
Todd Makes Massive Double-Up
Day 1 chip leader Jesper Petersen was one of the few players who could have taken on this kind of hit and still stand tall. He raised preflop to 6500, and was reraised to 23,000 by Eugene Todd. Petersen then raised over the top again, moving all-in while having Todd covered. Todd committed his remaining 55,000 in chips and tabled 9 9 . Petersen was in the lead with Q Q . But the flop was exactly what Todd needed, coming 9 8 2 . The 4 on the turn was followed by the J on the river and Todd doubled up.
Can't Put One Past Fast Eddie
Edward "Fast Eddie" Ochana called 16,500 from the player in seat 5 after the flop came 10 9 3 . After the 2 on the turn made a four-flush board, Ochana checked and his opponent bet 27,000. Undaunted, Ochana made the call again. The river brought the 10 to pair the board, and after his opponent checked, Ochana tabled Q 9 for second pair with no heart. It was enough to take the pot down.
The Rich Get Richer
Rich Murnick was on the button and pushed his remaining 30,900 into the center of the table. Seat 6 tanked before making the call with his own short stack. Murnick held J J , while his opponent held A Q . The board ran out 7 6 2 K 9 and Murnick doubled up.
Jacob Takes a Hit
Alex Jacob had his shortstack take another hit when he called an all-in move by another shortstack who flipped over 10 9 . Jacob was in the lead with A 3 and held the edge to the river. The board read 5 2 2 J , before the 9 at the end cost Jacob another 9,100 in chips, leaving him with just 21,000.

Shorr called and showed K Q . Seat 3 showed A 9 . The board ran out A 2 7 J 8 . Shorr missed his gutshot draw on the river and dropped down to 60,000.

Stephen Pearce: 48,000
Average Stack: 32,724
Eliminations: Jennifer Tilly
Big Hands:
"Ship It!"
On a board that ran out A 10 3 7 5 , Vivek Rajkumar was facing an all in bet by the player in seat 5. The pot was already around 30,000 before the bet of 21,000. Rajkumar took a session in the tank until the player in seat 5 called for a clock. The floor person came to the table and initiated the one minute countdown. It took 58 seconds, but Rajkumar went with his gut and made the call. He was right as his opponent tapped the table with his cards, signaling that he had nothing. Rajkumar turned over J 10 for second pair and took down a massive pot. He also sent his opponent to the rail. When all the counting was done, Rajkumar was around 90,000 in chips.
A Cowgirl Rides Off With Cowboys
On a board that ran out 8 6 3 4 5 , Jennifer Tilly called her remaining chips into the pot against her opponent in seat 3. He tabled K 2 for a rivered flush to go along with an unnecessary straight, also on the river. Tilly tabled her losing K K and rode off into the sunset.
Don't Mess With Watkinson, He Might Sic His Panther On You
Lee Watkinson moved all in for his last 1,800 preflop against his opponent in seat 5. Watkinson was called and caught with his pants down as he showed 5 2 . Seat 5 turned over K 10 . On the bright side, Watkinson was drawing live and the flop came down 6 3 4 . Watkinson flopped a straight and the 2 and 9 finished off the board and doubled up Watkinson to 3,600. It was probably good news for seat 5 because Watkinson owns a panther, and you don't want to mess with anyone who owns a panther. That's just silly.
Watkinson later doubled up again and turned his lowly stack of 1,800 to around 20,000.
Jacob Adds to His Stack
Alex Jacob raised to 1,600 preflop and the players in seat 5 and seat 2 called. The flop came K 9 3 . Jacob led out with 3,000 and seat 6 repopped to 11,600. Seat 2 got out of the way and the action was back on Jacob. He made the call after a few moments of thinking. The turn was the A and both players checked. The 4 on the river was also checked and Jacob showed K J . It was good as seat 5 mucked and Jacob was around 90,000.

Later, the player in seat 5 was all in with A 5 against Shorr's K 10 . The board ran out 9 8 5 3 7 and Shorr hit his backdoor flush, eliminating seat 5. Shorr was back up to around 70,000.
