Kyle ?kwob20? Bowker, a Walton, New York, native, made a splash in the online-poker scene when he became the first-ever player to win two bracelets at the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) in the same series. Bowker took down the WCOOP Omaha eight-or-better event, and then, nine days later, claimed a second bracelet in the seven-card stud eight-or-better event. His combined winnings for the two events were more than $170,000.
However, Bowker was a successful poker player even before his dual-bracelet win at the WCOOP. Bowker finished in a very respectable 37th place (out of 8,773 entrants) in the 2006 World Series of Poker, earning more than $247,000.
Needless to say, he?s since quit his job at Home Depot and has yet to utilize his associate degree in criminal justice.
