Steve Dannenmann Bio

Steve Dannenmann was born in Brooklyn Park, Maryland. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Baltimore and went on to be a successful mortgage banker and CPA. However, Dannenmann captured the heart of the poker world when he did the unthinkable and finished second in the 2005 World Series of Poker main event. He took home $4,250,000 for his play and immediately split it with his friend, Jerry Ditzell, who paid half of Dannenmann's $10,000 buy-in.

Since the World Series, Dannenmann has continued to run his business in Maryland and plays the occasional tournament. At the 2005 Tournament of Champions, Dannenmann finished in fifth place and earned $100,000.
