Big Hands/Storylines
Hellmuth Catches Bluff
Action folded around to Phil Hellmuth who limped in middle position. His opponent, on the button, raised to 2,700, and Hellmuth made the call. Hellmuth checked in the dark before the 10 8 3 flop and his opponent checked behind. Hellmuth then check-called a 3,200 bet on the J turn. The river was the J and Hellmuth checked again. His opponent thought for a few seconds before betting 5,700. “You’ve got me beat but I can’t lay this down,” said Hellmuth, moments before calling. His opponent rapped the table and showed 4 2 . Hellmuth’s Q 10 was good enough to take down the pot. Hellmuth’s epilogue: “Whenever I limp you guys just keep coming after me!”
With the pot Hellmuth increases his stack to about 90,000.
Excellent Call
A player raised from middle position and Jean-Robert Bellande re-raised to 5,600. The other player called and they saw a flop of A 8 8 . Both players checked. Both players checked again on the 9 turn. The river was the K and the other player checked. Bellande, sensing a good opportunity to take down the pot, bet 3,500. He was quickly called and turbo-mucked his hand. His opponent tabled K Q . Bellande is now down to 33,000.
D’Agostino Takes One From Gordon
With the board reading 9 6 2 2 10 and about 8,000 in the pot, Phil Gordon bet 6,500 into John D’Agostino. D’Agostino thought for a few seconds before making the call. D’Agostino showed 10 9 for a rivered top two pair. Despite the hit, Gordon still has nearly 55,000. D'Agostino has 40k.
Elizabeth Bows Out
Shannon Elizabeth was shortstacked through the day, and finally elected to move all-in for her remaining 7150 when in the cut-off position and play folded to her. The button made the call however and showed A J . It was a dominating hand over Elizabeth’s A 8 . The flop came Q Q 7 , followed by the 6 and the 9 , and Elizabeth was finished in the main event for 2008.
Shulman Nurses Shortstack
Jeff Shulman continues to hover around the 7,000 chip mark, looking for the right moment to double up. One attempt, a 2000 raise from the cut-off, resulted in a reraise to 5100 from the small blind, and Shulman folded, now down to 5300 total. However, he managed to steal the blinds and antes on successive hands minutes later to crawl back to around the 7000 mark.
Sheikhan, Chan Doing Battle
One noteworthy table pairing has experienced pros Johnny Chan and Shawn Sheikhan seated together in the Brasilia Room, with Chan to the immediate left of Sheikhan. In one recent hand, it was 2200 preflop with both players and another in the cut-off. A dangerous looking flop of A A K came down and was checked by all three players. After the 7 on the turn, Sheikhan, in the small blind, bet 6000. That brought about a pair of folds.
Min-Raise Enough for Booth
Brad Booth was in the cut-off, and with the blinds at 300/600 he put in a raise to 1200. Both blinds called. The flop came J 2 2 , and after both blinds checked Booth bet 3000. It was enough to take down the pot.
Allen Cunningham continues to be among the shortstacks, but after a recent double-up now has 22,000 in chips.

Big Hands and Storylines:
Sklansky Clings to Life
It’s been a slow day for David Sklansky, and it hasn’t picked up any steam in the final level. He has been hovering around the 10,000 chip count for the past few hours, and couldn’t do anything with his blinds in a recent rotation. As big blind, he saw a player in middle position raise to 1050. Sklansky, already in for 400, made the call. After the flop came J 8 7 , he folded to a bet of 1,550. He then limped for another 400 the next hand as small blind, but dodged out of the way when the flop came 5 3 2 . As it turned out, a player pushed all-in with the Q 9 , was called by a set of fives, then the board ran out J A for the running flush. Sklansky then folded his button and now sits at 9,500.
Binger and Singer in a Zinger of a Humdinger
In the blue section of the Amazon Room, one table became particularly stacked when Card Player P.O.Y. contender Michael Binger joined 2008 World Series of Poker bracelet winner David Singer’s table. The media hovered close by to capture any and all action between the two notable players. In one hand, Binger raised to a total of 1,100 from under the gun, and Singer called as the player next to act. All other players folded, and the flop came down 8 6 5 . Binger continued his aggression by firing a bet of 1,800 into the pot, causing Singer to release his hand. Singer remained one of the tournament’s largest stacks with over 100,000 in chips, while Binger hovered around 35,000 throughout most of the level.
Jacob turns trips and collects more chips
With the board A Q J J , Alex Jacob bet 2,100 and was called immediately by his opponent. The river was the 7 and Jacob bet 4,600. This time his opponent took a moment to think it over. but he made the call in the end, and Jacob flipped over J 10 to take the pot. After the hand Jacob has roughly 20,000 chips.
Awada dodges disaster
With the board 8 7 2 , Joe Awada raised his opponent's bet of 2,000 to 5,000. His opponent reraised all in, and Awada was clearly frustrated with his situation. He folded J 8 and after initially hesitating his opponent flipped over 8 8 . But he can't feel too good about his fold; Awada has just 12,000 chips and is at risk of elimination any time he plays a hand.
When You're Hot . . .
A player in late position raised to 1200 and Brad Booth, on the button, made the call, as did the big blind. The flop came Q J 9 , and after the first two players checked Booth fired out 3500. The big blind called and the original raiser folded. The 3 fell on the turn, and the big blind checked. Booth, perhaps sensing a trap, checked behind. The river was the 10 , creating a four-card straight on board. The big blind checked and Booth bet 5000. The big blind, obviously frustrated by the river, called and flipped over J J for a set. That was suddenly in second place however, as Booth held 8 7 for the bottom end straight.

A player raised to 1,200 from late position and Gavin Griffin pushed his final 3,550 into the pot. The player called and showed K K , having Griffin in a world of hurt as he showed 6 6 . Any possible flush Griffin could hit would not save him as his opponent had those draws covered. Griffin needed to hit some kind of a straight or a one of the two remaining sixes. The board ran out Q 10 3 9 4 and Griffin's main event was over.
Brad Booth Picks Up Aces
Three players limped to Booth who made it 1,500 to go. One limper folded and the second called. Marcel Luske was the third limper and called as well. The flop came 8 8 6 and everyone checked. When the 3 came on the turn, action was checked to Booth who fired 1,700. He was called by seat 2 and Luske got out of the way. Seat 2 checked in the dark and the 5 came on the river. Booth bet 2,500 and was called. He showed A A and his opponent mucked. Booth took a pot worth 7,500 and increased his stack to about 72,000.
Gowen Needs No Showdown
On a board of 10 10 3 , Alex Jacob checked, Clonie Gowen checked and the player in seat 3 fired 750. Jacob folded and Gowen made the call. The turn was the Q and Gowen led out with a bet of 2,500. Seat 3 made the call and the 5 fell on the river. Gowen bet 4,500 and seat 3 shook his head, mucking his hand as he lost a third of his stack in the hand. Gowen took the pot without a showdown and was nearing 70,000 in chips.
Luske Runs Into Kings
On a flop of Q 6 3 , seat 2 checked to Marcel Luske, who bet 1,000. Seat 2 made the call and the 6 came on the turn. Seat 2 checked to Luske again and "The Flying Dutchman" fired 2,000. Seat 2 made the call and both players checked the 8 on the river. Seat 2 rolled over K K and Luske quickly mucked.
Madsen With a Gutshot
In a three-way limped pot, the flop came down A Q 3 . Madsen bet 1,000 from the button and only one player made the call. The turn was the 4 and Madsen's opponent checked. Madsen then bet 2,500, which his opponent called. The K fell on the river and Madsen fired 5,600 into the pot. His opponent called again and Madsen showed J 10 for a broadway straight on the river. Madsen was up to about 85,000.
Singer Bluffed For All to See
On a board of Q Q 4 J , the player in seat 3 bet 800 and David Singer made the call. The 10 came on the river and seat 3 bet 1,600. Singer thought about a call, but mucked his hand as camera crews looked on. Seat 3 showed A 2 for a whole lot of nothing and said that he only bluffed Singer because the cameras were around.
Full House v.s. Flush, Ng Doubles
With 9 9 3 8 on the board Evelyn Ng bet 2,500 and was check-raised to 7,500. Ng elected to just call and the J came on the river. After her opponent bet 6,000, Ng moved all in for 9,125 total and was called by her opponent, who held the A K for the rivered nut flush. However, Ng held J J for a rivered full house to take down the large pot, boosting her stack to 50,000.
Dmitri Nobles Busts
Nobles was all in on a board showing Q 10 5 A 2 . Nobles held A K , but it was second best to his opponent's 10 10 . Nobles' opponent apologized for knocking him out, but it was little consolation to Nobles as he made his way toward the exit.

$10,000 World Championship Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 or Better - End of Day 2
Jun 20, '08
The final two-tables are set! Level 17 saw 7 eliminations and the staff at the Rio decided to call it a night with 18 players remaining. Foremost among the players returning tomorrow will be Mike Matusow. With a big stack of chips and an even bigger mouth, Matusow will be happy with nothing less than his 2nd bracelet of this year's series. To do so, he will have to fend off a number of big names. Hendon Mobber Ram Vaswani will enter the final day with the chip lead and he too will have a multiple-bracelet motivation: a win in this event will give him bracelets in consecutive years. Also in the hunt are high stakes cash specialists Chau Giang and David Benyamine. Benyamine, who was bounced on the final table bubble of the $5,000 stud high/low event only a few days ago, will have extra incentive to make a final table run here.
The players will reconvene at the Rio tomorrow at 3 p.m. PST.
Here is a recap of the final level of the day:
Blinds: 5,000-10,000
Players Left: 18 of 235
Chip Leaders:
Ram Vaswani - 450,000
Mike Matusow - 390,000
Chau Giang - 370,000
Greg Jamison - 315,000

20th – James Grove
21st – James Van Alstyne
22nd – Danny Smith
23rd – Brad Booth
24th – Bruno Fitoussi
25th – Dustin Sitar
Big Hands and Storylines:
Dustin Donates And Goes Home
The two short stacks at the table Dustin Sitar and Stuart “thedonator” Patterson got all-in pre-flop and showed the following hands:
Patterson: A 10 7 2
Sitar: A K J 6
When the board – 10 9 4 2 9 – had been dealt, Patterson’s nines and tens were enough to take down the pot. Sitar, slightly covered by Patterson, was eliminated in 25th place. Patterson is now up to 80,000.
“You Gotta Get Lucky”
Brad Booth raised from late position. Mike Matusow called from the button saying, “I’ll give you some action,” and William McMahon called in the big blind. The flop came J J 8 . McMahon checked, Booth bet, Matusow raised, and his two rivals called. The turn was the 9 and McMahon and Booth both checked to Matusow who bet. This time McMahon cagily raised and Booth, with only 3,000 chips left, was forced to fold. Matusow called and the pair saw the river: 10 . McMahon bet, Matusow raised, the call was made and they showed their hands:
Matusow: K K J 10
McMahon: K J 9 5
Matusow had re-drawn out on the river after McMahon had spiked a 6-outer on the turn. After the conclusion of the hand there was much discussion about whether the hand had played itself or if there was any other way it could have been played. Matusow put his inimitable stamp on the conversation when he opined, “You don’t think Phil Hellmuth has 11 bracelets because he plays good, do you? You gotta get lucky!” Matusow, whether through luck, skill, or a bit of both, is now up to 390,000.
You Gotta Get Lucky: Part II
The very next hand, William McMahon got most of his chips into the pot against David Chiu by the flop. McMahon bet his last 20,000 on the turn with the board reading K K 5 10 and Chiu, after a great deal of thought, made a frustrated call. Chiu’s frustration grew when he saw McMahon’s holding: A 10 10 3 . Chiu was drawing to only 3 outs with A A 9 2 but the river was an unhelpful 9 . The hand elevated McMahon to 120,000. Hey, you gotta get lucky.

They’re In The Money
The bubble has just burst and the players remaining are all now guaranteed to walk away from this tournament a bit richer than when they started (prop bets and cross-booking aside). Those who finish in places 19-27 will take home $22,090.
Whichever Comes First
According to the higher-ups here at the Rio, tonight’s event will play until the end of level 18 or until we reach the final table, whichever comes first. The former is looking far more likely with 26 players still remaining. If all goes according to plan, we should be out of here by about 3:30 tonight.
Katch Him If You Can
Eugene Katchalov just won a nice pot off of Toto Leonidas when Leonidas, after raising pre-flop from under-the-gun, check-called on every street against the Ukraine-born New Yorker. The final board was Q 8 7 Q 4 and Katchalov showed A 8 4 2 His two-pair, queens and eights, and nut low scooped him the pot, taking him up to 185,000. Leonidas is right on his tail with 180,000.
Dehkharghani Doubles
Ray Dehkharghani bet into two players on a flop of Q 6 2 , Danny Smith folded and Mike Matusow called. With only 26,000 left going into the turn, Dehkharghani committed himself by firing at Matusow when an 8 landed. Matusow set his opponent all-in and they revealed their hands:
Matusow: A J 6 2
Dehkharghani: K Q J 10
The river was the Q and Dehkharghani scooped the pot, more than doubling him up to 80,000. The hand only took a sliver out of Matusow’s stack, which now sits at 220,000.
Berry Bests Brunson, Brad Booth
Brad Booth raised from middle position and got calls from Berry Johnston in middle position and Doyle Brunson in the small blind. The flop came K 10 6 and Brunson led out, Booth raised, and Johnston raised him. Both Brunson and Booth called the bet and the turn was the 10 . Brunson and Booth checked to Berry who, predictably, bet. This time Brunson and Booth bowed out of the hand and allowed Johnston to take down the pot. Berry Johnston now has 250,000 in chips. Booth is sitting with 100,000. Brunson was eliminated not too long after this hand, right on the bubble.

Tough Love for Elizabeth
Tom Love and Chris "Jesus" Ferguson called Shannon Elizabeth's all in bet on a flop of A 9 3 and Ferguson kept firing on the 7 turn and then both players checked the J river. Love showed A-9-5-2 for two pair and the 7-low. Ferguson showed A-7-6-4 and couldn't beat either of Love's hands. Elizabeth showed 10-7-3-2 and was eliminated from the tournament.
Lawson Gone to Monster
Ted Lawson led out 2,500 on a Q 8 5 flop and was called by Gabe Kaplan and Brent Carter. On the 2 turn, Carter bet 5,000 and Gaplan and Lawson called. The river was the 2 and Carter bet 5,000 again and was called by both players.
Carter confidently showed A 3 K 2 for the nut flush and 8-low. Kaplan showed A 3 8 7 for the same 8-low and Lawson mucked his hand and was eliminated. Carter took 3/4 of the pot and has around 45,000.
Booth Climbs the Ranks
Mel Judah bet 2,500 into a flop of K Q 7 and Brad Booth called. The turn was the A , Judah checked and Booth fired 5,000. Judah mucked and Booth continues to accumulate chips, nearing 123,000.
Too Late For Duke
Annie Duke bet 2,500 on a flop of J 7 4 and was called by her opponent. She bet 5,000 when the A came on the turn and was again called. The K came on the river and Duke check-called her opponent. Her opponent showed A 9 3 2 and Duke mucked her hand. A split second later she said, "Wait! Wait! Pick it up!" but it was too late and her hand was considered dead. She said she may have had a better hand than she thought.
Same Hands Lose to Slightly Better One
Chau Giang bet 2,500 and was called on a A Q 10 flop by the players in seat 4 and seat 7. All three players checked the J turn and Q river and showed down their hands. Both Giang and seat 4 showed A-7 as the best cards they could muster from their hands, and seat 7 showed A-9 to take narrowly take the pot.

Big Hands:
Only Jesus...
Most of the buzz around the room has been about Chris "Jesus" Ferguson. He came into the day as the tournament's short stack with just 3,300.
So what had Mike "the Mouth" Matusow yelling (or just normal talk for Matusow?) that Ferguson would be chip leader before long? Ferguson chipped all the way up to 25,000 in the first half of the level.
"How much is an autograph going for?" Matusow joked with Ferguson. "I'll give you mine for free if you give me yours for 50."
Negreanu Bid Farewell
Daniel Negreanu chopped a pot with Jennifer Harman when the board ran K-7-2-A-4 and Negreanu showed A-J-10-7 for the best two pair, and Harman showed A-9-6-4 for the 7-low.
One hand later Negreanu was all in and his chances weren't as good, up against Hasan Habib, Men "The Master" Nguyen and Jennifer Harman. The flop came 10 8 7 and Habib checked to Nyguen, who bet 1,500. Harman and Habib called and the turn brought the 6 . All players put in another 3,000 to see the river J . Habib put his remaining 800 in and Nguyen put out a bet of 3,000 that was called by Harman.
Nguyen showed 3 2 4 2 for a flush and Habib showed A 2 5 5 for the low. Harman mucked and Negreanu was eliminated.
Goodwin Takes The Enitre Pot
Marc Goodwin called James DiGiorgio's bets on every street on a board of K-8-7-Q-Q and flipped over A-A-Q-2. DiGiorgio showed a king and mucked, and Goodwin climbed toward 20,000.
The Matadore Double
Carlos Mortensen started the day with 7,400 in chips but recently doubled to around 18,000 when he got all in preflop and the board came 9 8 2 Q Q . Mortenson showed A-8-7-3, which was good enough to take the pot.
A Jesus-Like Tale
Tom Schneider has also had a Jesus-like resurrection, starting the day with just 4,400 and climbing up to around 25,000. However, Schneider just took a hit when he called an opponent all the way then raised on the river. As soon as his opponent called Schneider said, "You got it. I missed everything," and mucked. His opponent showed 10 9 for a full house. Schneider fell to around 20,000.
A Pretty Big Hand
Brad Booth bet out on a board of 5 2 2 9 and Jeff Madsen let his hand go. Booth then said, "A pretty big hand..." and showed A-2-3-K for a set of deuces and the nut low draw.
Fashionably Late
David Benyamine just sat down at Mike Matusow's table halfway through the level. Matusow, who has been singing and chatting away, said he wasn't sure if Benyamine was going to show up today.

Gabe Kaplan Struggling to Stay Alive
On a board of Q J 6 6 5 , Gabe Kaplan faced a bet from his opponent and deliberated before throwing his cards into the muck and giving up on a pot worth over 12,000 in chips. “I flopped two pair,” the player told Kaplan as he mucked his cards face down and dragged the pot. Kaplan finished the hand with less than 15,000 in chips.
Chau Giang and Bill Gazes Split a Pot
Chau Giang Checked to Bill Gazes on a board of A J 3 2 , and Gazes thought pensively before checking behind. The Q river was dealt, prompting Giang to bet. Gazes made the call, and Giang turned over his A 10 3 2 for a ten-high flush. Gazes turned over K K 8 5 for a playable low, and the two players split the pot.
Mickey Appleman Trying to Improve His Short Stack
In a hand on table 15 in the orange section of the Amazon Room, the action folded to Mickey Appleman on the button. Appleman called, as did Annie Duke in the small blind. Johnny Chan checked his big blind option and the three players saw a flop of A 6 2 . Duke and Chan checked to Appleman, who bet. Duke folded, but Chan called and the two players saw the 10 on the turn. Chan checked and Appleman checked behind. The A on the river was dealt, and again Chan checked. Appleman bet and Chan called. Appleman turned over K K 9 8 for two pair, aces and kings. Chan turned over 10 8 7 2 for a playable low, and the pot was split.

Toto Leonidas - 265,000
David Benyamine - 260,000

Big Hands:

Big Hands:
Singer Third in Two Horse Race
Allen Cunningham had 10 10 7 showing, but he was content to check the action to David Singer, who led the betting with A 5 2 . Kirill Gerasimov also tailed along, showing A K 2 . Singer bet 600 and drew two calls, then did the same on sixth street after he added the 10 . Cunningham added the J and Gerasimov the 7 . The players all checked seventh street, and Cunningham showed another seven for two pair, 10s and sevens, while Gerasimov had 8-4-3 in the hole for a low. Singer, despite the promising start, drew a blank.
Dangerous Duke
It was heads-up after seat 6 made the bring-in with the 3 and Annie Duke raised to 400 with the K . Fourth street brought action as both added aces. Duke paired her king on fifth street to lead, but then seat 6 drew another ace on sixth street for a higher pair. Seat 6 showed 3 A 9 A while Duke held K A K 4 . Seventh street was checked, and Duke took the pot down with a second pair in the hole.
Battle of the Voices
Perhaps as well known for their poker analysis on television as they are for their playing, Norman Chad and Howard Lederer went to battle in level 6. It was 400 four ways after Lederer drew the A , and Chad was next to call with the 6 . Two other players also saw fourth street, during which Lederer added the 10 and Chad the 8 . Yet it was seat 4 who tossed in a raise to 800 with the K 8 showing, which both Chad and Lederer called. Lederer made it three diamonds with the 8 on fifth straight, and led out for 800. Chad, now with 6 8 J , called, as did seat 4. Sixth street brought another round of betting, and left Lederer with A 10 8 7 . Chad showed Q J 8 6 , and seat 4 showed K Q 8 4 . After seventh street, Chad showed his hole cards to be 9-7-5, good for a straight made on fifth street. Lederer missed his flush draw, but managed a low with A-2-4 in the hole. Seat 4 had a good seat to watch his chips get divided.
Booth Second Best
Brad Booth appeared destined for a chopped pot and had invested accordingly in a heads up battle with the player in seat 3. Booth was showing 9 9 8 8 for two pair, while his opponent appeared heading for the low, showing A 3 4 5 . The 3 on sixth street did bring a straight into play, but in the end Booth only had 5-4-2 to go with his two pair, while his opponent held A-10-4 for two higher pair and scooped the pot.

Brad Booth Takes One Down
Jul 11, '07
Over at the featured table, David Sklansky raises to $300 and a late position player makes the call, along with Brad Booth in the big blind. The flop comes Q 7 4 and everyone checks. The turn is the 10 and it is checked to seat No. 4 who bets $700. Booth looks at his chips and then fires out a raise of $3,000. Sklansky folds and the player in late position rechecks his cards before reluctantly tossing them into the muck.

Level One Recap
Jul 09, '07
Great Dane?
Two hours have passed and the first level of play is now over. Players are beginning to get shuffled around the Amazon room as tables break and notable players not previously noticed are beginning to emerge. David Benyamine, Eric Mizrachi and Carlos Mortensen are all now present and accounted for. Missing from today's field, and the Main Event for that matter, is Gus Hansen. Hansen has not shown up to take a seat on any of the day ones and may not even be registered at all. Hansen has emerged in the last few years as a formidable and capable player, his presence will be missed.
No Rush Phil
Every day there are two ESPN featured tables with at least one notable name. Today's featured tables are starring 2006 Main Event Champion Jamie Gold and on the other table ESPN cameras are busy filming an empty chair. Nine amatuer players are waiting patiently for their tenth seat to be filled and there is no mystery or doubt of who will be arriving soon. In his usual fashion, Phil Hellmuth has yet to show up and take his seat. Getting blinded off through the first two hours, we should expect to see Phil rolling in fashionably late sometime during the second level.
Champions Galore
Each day so far in this year's Main Event there have been previous Main Event champions in attendance. Today is no different with Jim Becthel ('93), Juan Carlos Mortensen ('01) and hopefully in a few minutes, Phil Hellmuth Jr. ('89). Each started day has also had it's share of celebrities in the field as well. Hank Azaria, actor and voice of numerous Simpsons characters is playing today. The lead singer of the band Godsmack, Sully Erna is in the field and so is A.J. McLean of Backstreet Boys fame.
Stacked Table
Table 151 is shaping up nicely as the day rolls on. Cyndy Violette started the day at the table and now she is forced to share it with David Benyamine and Isaac Haxton, 2nd place finisher of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure. ( www.pokerstars.com) Benyamine is playing on one side of the room while his fiancée, Erica Schoenberg, is playing on the ohter.
Early Chip Leader
Layne "Back to Back" Flack has emerged as the early chip leader in today's field. Flack has managed to build his stack to a little more than double what he started with and now has $42,000 in the early hours of day 1D. Michael Craig is also climbing the leaderboard and has over $35,000 himself. With the board showing A-3-2-A-A and only $1,500 in the pot, Craig bet out $2,000. Craigs opponent called and Craig showed an ace for quad aces. His opponent laughed and mucked his hand.
Brad "Yukon" Booth had a swift exit from this year's World Series of Poker Main Event. On a board that was queen high, Booth made consecutive bets of $3,000 and $8,000 on the turn and the river. His opponent check-called the whole way and called the $8,000 bet on the river. Booth's opponent showed Q-J for top pair and Booth mucked his hand, having presumably bluffed away a large portion of his chips. Booth was eliminated shortly thereafter when his opponent turned a full house against what he said was pocket aces.
Sorel "Imperium" Mizzi has had the slight misfortune of being seated across from a very dangerous player in Erick Lindgren. Mizzi wasted no time in the first level, settling in to his aggressive playing style. Mizzi popped it to $450 from the button and got two callers, the player in the small blind and the player in seat nine who had previously limped. The flop came 7 6 2 . The small blind bet out $500 and the player in seat nine smooth called. Mizzie raised to $2,475 and the player in the small blind immediately called. The player in seat nine called as well and the turn was the 9 . All three players checked and the river brought the A . The player in the small blind bet out $5,000 and the player in seat nine called. Mizzi got out of the way and the player in the small blind turned up A A . Mizzi had folded pocket eights.
