Forrest was born in 1964 in Syracuse, New York. His poker experience began as a dealer. After a year, he decided to move to Las Vegas, hoping to begin a poker career.
Forrest has had significant tournament success. His break-out year was 1993, when he won three World Series of Poker bracelets in the seven-card stud, Omaha eight-or-better, and razz events. In 2004, he won two more in the seven-card stud and $1,500 no-limit hold'em events. He also won in the 2005 Mirage Poker Showdown in an invitation-only Professional Poker Tour event.
Forrest has continued his success since, winning the 2007 WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star main event for $1.1 million, bringing his lifetime winnings to nearly $5.5 million.
