Big Hands:
J.C Tran Doubles
After Nasr El Nasr raised to 20,000 preflop, J.C. Tran raised all in for his last 109,000. Steven Doebler was next to act and repopped to 200,000 total. Nasr folded and the cards were turned up.
Doebler tabled A Q and was disgusted when Tran showed A K . The flop came down 5 4 4 . “I’ll take another pair,” Doebler said. The turn was the 3 and there were straight possibilities. But the river was the 6 and Tran doubled up to almost 230,000. “One more time,” Tran said as he raked in the chips.
David Levi Busts
David Levi moved all in for his last 30,000 preflop with 70,000 already in the pot. He was called by the Clayton Newman. Levi turned over A Q while Newman tabled 10 10 .
The flop came down K 10 4 , giving Newman a set but Levi a broadway draw. The turn was the J and Levi hit his straight, but the K on the river filled up Newman and Levi was gone.
Benyamine Straight To A Million
After David Benyamine and David McLarthy both put 17,000 into the pot preflop, the flop dropped 6 2 3 . Benyamine led out with 28,000 and McLarthy made the call. The turn was the 4 and both players checked.
The river was the 5 , putting a straight on the board. Benyamine led out again with 125,000 and McLarthy just smiled. He threw in the call and Benyamine turned over 8 7 for the absolute nuts. McLarthy mucked and Benyamine took in the pot, vaulting himself over 1 million.
Shulman Busts Andy Black
We weren’t able to get close enough to the action since Jeff Shulman is at the feature table, but somehow he had eliminated Andy Black from the tournament and doubled up to 640,000 in chips.
Ludovic Lacay Busts Another
Ludovic Lacay called the all in of Shawn Pilot and showed 8 8 and was off to the races against Pilot’s A K .
The board ran out 4 J 4 9 7 , keeping Lacay’s pair in the lead and eliminating Pilot from the tournament.
Sorel Mizzi Eliminated
Sorel Mizzi got all of his chips in the middle with A J and was called by Scott Cook who had 9 9 . The flop was good for Cook as it came 9 6 3 , but the K on the turn gave Mizzi some hope.
The 10 on the river left Mizzi one card short of his flush and sent him home early on day 5.
Stokes Doubles Through Kara Scott
There was a raise to 20,000 and Jamin Stokes opted to flat-call. The action got to Kara Scott and she decided to make it 100,000 total. The original raiser got out of the way and action was back to Stokes, who thought for 30 seconds before moving all in. Scott made the call and showed A K and was behind Stokes K K .
The board ran out 3 8 8 J Q and Stokes doubled up.
Crowe’s Kings Trump Taylor’s Jacks
We were unable to catch when all the money went in, but Owen Crowe doubled through Brian Taylor with pocket kings against pocket jacks on a board that read 7 9 6 3 2 .
“I didn’t want to play a big pot yet,” said Crowe. “But then I figured I had two kings, so I would.”
Noah Boeken Scores A Knockout, Over A Million
After a flop of 10 8 4 , Joseph Michael was all in and Noah Boeken made the call. Michael showed down Q Q for an overpair but Boeken tabled 8 8 for a flopped set.
The turn was the 6 and the river was the 7 and Michael was eliminated. Boeken raked in the pot and was at 1.3 million.

Steven Levy Eliminated in Fourth Place ($192,650)
Steven Levy had just lost a race to David Walasinski to double him up a few hands before this hand came up.
Steven Levy raised to 220,000 in the small blind and David Walasinski moved all in from the big blind. Levy called and both hands were turned up.
Levy held the A 9 , which was way behind the A J of Walasinski. The board fell Q 10 6 8 6 , which eliminated Levy from the tournament.

15th place - Owen Crowe - $463,202
16th place - Tony Scherer - $334,535
Big Hands and Storylines:
Rheem Staves off Elimination
Joe Bishop raised to 450,000 under the gun and play was folded around to Chino Rheem in the big blind who made the call. After a flop of 8 5 2 , Rheem checked, and Bishop bet 800,000. Rheem then made his move, announcing all-in for 4.4 million. Bishop agonized. The two had been in a previous battle when Bishop turned quad sixes against his rival. Bishop finally announced call, and Rheem shook his head. “You have sixes again?” Sure enough, Bishop held 6 6 for second pair. Rheem had made his push with just two overcards, the K 9 . The turn brought the 3 and Rheem was down to his final card. But the miracle K on the river kept him alive and moved him into the middle of the pack of the chip count. Bishop fell back to about 11 million.
Rheem had raked in a couple of smaller pots previously to build his shortstack. The first was after he raised to 325 preflop and was called by Kelly Kim. The flop came 10 8 3 , and Rheem bet 450,000. Kim again called. Both checked when the 5 made it a four-flush board, then the 9 hit the river. Rheem checked and Kelly bet 550,000. Rheem angrily threw in his chips to call, worried that his Q 6 had been run over by the fourth diamond on the turn. But Kim mucked his hand.
A few hands later, Rheem called a raised to 325 from Craig Marquis, and Kim in the small blind also called. The flop came K 7 3 , Kim and Marquis checked, and Rheem bet 325,000. Kim called and after the 8 was turned, both players checked. The 7 on the river brought two more checks, and Rheem won the pot with K 10 .
Bishop gets aggressive
Just before dinner break, Joe Bishop made an interestingly large raise preflop to 670,000. He was called by Chris Klodnicki to his left and the two players saw a 5 5 3 . Bishop bet 1.2 million, and then Klodnicki raised to 2.4 million. Bishop, who likes to talk at the table, did not like the min-raise and called it an "insult." He paced around the table and then finally decided to move all in. After a minute Klodnicki folded and Bishop turned over pocket nines. Bishop was up to 15 million after the hand, while Klodnicki was down to about four million.
As the Crowe Flies - Owen Crowe Eliminated in 15th Place ($463,202)
Ivan Demidov opened for 330,000 from under the gun. He was called by both Chino Rheem and Joe Bishop before Owen Crowe moved all in for 1.84 million. Only Demidov made the call. Crowe was all in for his tournament life holding 9 9 against Ivan Demidov's A Q . The flop was a suspenseful one, running out J J 10 to give Demidov a gutshot to go with his overcards. It was the overcards that made his hand when the Q fell on the turn. Crowe was unable to find an 8 or a king to improve on the river, which was the 2 . Crowe went home in 15th place, earning $463,202 for his efforts. Demidov raked in the pot, moving up to 5,400,000.

Michael Carroll Eliminated in 27th place ($257,334)
Three players saw a flop of A 5 4 . Gert Andersen checked, and Michael Carroll moved all in for his last 735,000. Joe Bishop made the call, and was quite unhappy to see Gert Andersen move all in over the top behind him. Bishop folded his hand in frustration, but saw that he had made a good laydown as Gert Andersen flipped over 4 4 for flopped bottom set. Carroll was far behind with only A 9 , and failed to improve as the turn and river came J 10 , bringing his Main Event run to an end in 27th place.
Phi Nguyen Eliminated in 26th Place ($257,334)
After Paul Snead entered the pot and was called by Tiffany Michelle, Phi Nguyen moved all in for under one million. Snead was the only caller.
Nguyen: A T
Snead: J J
Board: 9 3 2 5 8
Michelle Drops Three Million Early in Level
On the first hand of the day, Owen Crowe raised from middle position and Tiffany Michelle called from late position. The two saw a 8 7 5 flop and Crowe bet 375,000. Michelle called and the turn was the 3 . Crowe checked and Michelle bet 500,000. Crowe then reraised 1.075 million more. Michelle folded and Crowe flipped over J 9 .
Paul Snead raised from early position and was called by three players. The flop came 6 4 3 and Snead bet 600,000. Michelle, sitting to her immediate left, then raised to 1.6 million. It folded around to Snead, and he quickly moved all in, a raise of about four million. Michelle took a few minutes to think, and while she did Snead paced around and talked to his wife and Joe Awada a few feet from the table. Finally Michelle folded and Snead took down the pot. Michelle began the day with nearly 10 million and now has under seven million.
