Judge Denies Dismissal of Wash. State Online Poker Law

Attorney Will Appeal

A Washington State judge today sided with state attorneys who successfully defended a law that makes online gambling a Class C felony there. Lee Rousso, the attorney who sued the state in an effort to have the law declared unconstitutional, said he will appeal.

“Even though it was a loss today, I still think some good things will come of it,” Rousso said.

After the hearing, about 50 people took part in a rally that featured Barry Greenstein and Andy Bloch. The rally brought local media attention to the law, which puts playing online poker legally on par with child pornography and grand theft auto.

Rousso also brought attention to the law by running for Washington State governor earlier this year. He said he was running for governor solely to cast light on this issue (and, on the outside chance he was elected, to overturn the law) and dropped out soon after learning he would get his day in court to challenge the state’s online gambling law.

If your talking about software like poker tracker ,that tracks the percentage of hands played ,how often they bet etc..the software is available to evryone.I personely dont have this software but would buy it .Its not an unfair advantage because anyone can buy it ,its not like there showing hole cards to evryone .there was a thread a while back about this issue and most agreed if its open to evryone its a choice ,and it doesnt do anything to the integrity of the game ,Imo

As a citizen of Washington State.....I AM SICK OF THIS! SICK AND TIRED AND I AM DONE! You call yourselves leaders??? You IDIOTS....you so called politicians, attorneys and Judges should all be euthanized in public! You do NOT stand for the rights of Americans nor do you stand for the rights of me and my family. I am so close to declaring war on you and your decisions! How can I playing a $5 sit and go compare to stealing a car or selling video tapes of a 6 year old having sex????? You people are fools, morons, idiots and inbreeds. You can all go to hell. I will continue to play poker online and I will continue to make a profit from it. The state of Washington will not get one cent of it in taxes or spending and I will try the best I can to make sure you never get elected again. I am an adult and a citizen of the country that is supposed to be "free". GO TO HELL YOU BASTARDS! Can you tell I am upset?
