The Small Town Poker Tour, which touts itself as the world’s largest amateur poker tour, announced it will hold a series of poker events throughout Louisiana to help raise money for organizations located there.
The Gator Flop series will take place in venues all over Louisiana, including American Legions and VFWs, and even a quarterback society. Only April’s dates are listed, and STPT plans on holding events in Louisiana into the fall.
“We still have a few open dates, and any Louisiana charity can contact us to become part of this series,” said STPT partner Mitchell “Moose” Antley.
The following dates have been released. The buy-ins vary, but are usually around $100:
- April 2 — Leesville VFW, Leesville
- April 3 — Grand Marais Mardi Gras Assoc., Jeanerette
- April 4 — Krewe of Janus, Monroe
- April 7 — American Legion 16, Covington
- April 9 — Evergreen Assoc., Houma
- April 17 — Anjarrd Group, Baton Rouge
- April 24 — Ash Trojan Quarterback Assoc., Alexandria
The series will also offer regular players a nice bonus. Top-finishers will receive points in each tournament, and the top point-earner wins a $7,500 seat into the World Series of Poker Circuit event scheduled for Harrah’s New Orleans in November.
