Founded in 1946, the Paralyzed Veterans of American is a congressionally chartered service dedicated to assisting the needs of veterans with spinal cord injury or dysfunction, and on Feb. 5 in Washington, D.C., the organization will host its first-ever charity poker tournament and live auction.
World Poker Tour commentator and 2006 World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions winner Mike Sexton will emcee the event. Former Senate Majority Leader Robert J. Dole, talk-show host Montel Williams, and legendary NASCAR driver Richard Petty are to serve as honorary committee members.
An individual ticket costs $1,000, which includes a seat into the poker tournament and an invitation to the general reception. For non-poker players, gallery seats are $250. There are also sponsorship opportunities from $10,000 to $100,000. The event will take place at the J.W. Marriot at
