Chilipoker First Online Poker Room on iPoker’s New French Network

iPoker launches poker network in FranceIsraeli online poker software developer Playtech launched its iPoker network in France today with Chilipoker the first room to open tables at the new site.

Having been granted a licence to operate in the market iPoker will also launch poker rooms on its network for JOA, Groupe Tranchant and Casino du Golfe in the coming weeks.

Mor Weizer, Playtech’s chief executive, said, “We are delighted to announce the launch of the French iPoker network. I am confident that it will develop to become one of the leading liquid networks in France. As the market expands in its regulated form, France has the potential to become a very substantial local market.”

In other news FullTiltPoker has blocked French players from its .com site ahead of applying for a licence to operate in the newly regulated market.

Companies already granted a licence to operate online poker rooms in the country include bwin, Everest Poker, Winamax, PokerStars, and PartyGaming.
