After eight days of play the World Series of Poker main event has reached its final table but this year only one European player sits among the November Nine.
Filippo Candio from Cagliari, Sardinia in Italy is a 26-year-old poker pro whose major score to date was winning the Campionato Italiano in 2009 for €140,000.
Candio will enter the final table when it returns to the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas on November 1 in sixth place and is guaranteed $811,823 in prize money.
Should he win the event he’ll score a colossal $8,944,138 for topping the 7,319 players who paid $10,000 to play the event.
Last year European fans had Antoine Saout from France and James Akenhead from the UK to cheer on.
