The L.A. Poker Classic is coming to a close, which resulted in many of the $1,000 buy-in tournaments on the various sites getting a bit of a boost this week.

Full Tilt Poker -- $1K Monday

Joe EbanksThe $1K Monday was up 23 players this week, to 378 from 355. This resulted in 36 players getting their share of the $378,000 prize pool.

Among the notables to make the money were Anthony "holdplz" Spinella (32nd), Jonathan "BlackJackLeak" Paul (29th), Alex "TheAssassinato" Fitzgerald (26th), Scott "NestofSalt" Wyler (19th), Joe "sampson724" Ebanks (15th, pictured right), Chris "Moormanl" Moorman (14th), Ken "Kenny Rap" Weinstein (12th), and Mark "The Omaholic" Roland (11th).

The final table featured David "GhettoFabolous" Randall (sixth), Casey "bigdogpckt5s" Jarzabek (fourth), Evan "NEONPILS99" Parkes (second), and John "JRD312" Dolan (first).

Despite coming into the final table with the second-shortest stack, Dolan got to heads up play with a 3-1 chip lead over Parkes. Dolan opened for a raise, and Parkes moved all in. Dolan made the call and was happy to see his A J in a dominant lead over Parkes and his K J. Dolan went on to make a full house on the hand and take down the tournament.

PokerStars -- Super Tuesday

Jon TurnerThe PokerStars Super Tuesday tournament was up 67 players this week after attracting just 352 the week before. The 419-player field generated a prize pool of $419,000.

A total of 54 places were paid to the likes of Greg "gregior" Howard (53rd), Mark "scrubbyz" Zajdner (49th), Jonathan "Fatal Error" Aguiar (46th), Ryan "ryanghall" Hall (42nd), Lee "Bill Ivey" Gaines (39th), Casey "bigdogpckt5s" Jarzabek (36th), Juan Maceiras "vietcong01" Barros (34th), Adam "akat11" Katz (33rd), Anthony "holdplz" Spinella (30th), Matt "ch0ppy" Kay (25th), Jared "TheWacoKidd" Hamby (20th), Jon "Pearl Jammer" Turner (17th, pictured left), Kyle "Mariner Sheep" Huffman (16th), Dan "WiLDmAn75" Buzgon (12th), and Geoff "GeoffRas22" Rasmussen (10th).

The final table featured Joe "ender555" Ebanks and Al Carmo. Once play got four-handed, the players spent about half an hour negotiating a deal. They finally agreed to chop it up according to the chip counts and leave $8,000 for the eventual winner.

Despite being in third when the deal was made, SSSSORRY came from behind to win the tournament and the extra prize money.

Absolute Poker -- $150,000 Guaranteed

Mohsin CharaniaThe $150,000 guarantee tournament on Absolute Poker was also up this week, although it only just enough to meet its guarantee, moving from 140 players to 155.

Finishing in the money were TRAUMATIZE (18th), James "P0KERPR033" Campbell (15th), Chris "LEON_BLACK" Klodnicki (13th), and Shannon "BLUFFFORRENT" Shorr (11th).

The final table featured Online Player of the Year contenders in Ty "IPuffPurp" Reiman (ninth), Hunter "THE_HUNTD" Frey (fourth), JohnnyGstaks (third), and Mohsin "CHICAGOCARDS1" Charania (first, pictured right).

Charania, making his seventh final table of the year, vaulted up to sixth in Card Player's OPOY rankings with the victory and $41,075.
