The Bodog Poker Open II is going strong and the first few events have attracted a ton of action.
The tournament series consists of bounty events and championship events, all of which offer extra value to the players by awarding $109 seats into the nightly main event satellites that run at 9:30 p.m. ET. The seats are awarded to players who knock out the designated players in the bounty tournaments, or who finish in one of the two bubble spots in the championship events. There have been five events so far.
The first event was the Kickoff Bounty tournament with $5,000 added to the prize pool. The buy-in was $109, and 242 players bought in, creating a prize pool of $24,000. Bstu24 took the first-place prize of $8,030 after busting the final bounty player, iLLNuGWichee, in second place.
The first championship event was a $55 buy-in no-limit hold’em rebuy tournament with $10,000 added to the prize pool. Of the 246 players who started, it was nutzkrackr who took the lion’s share of the $42,750 prize pool. His piece was more than $14,000.
The second championship event had a $30,000-guaranteed prize pool, but the 181 players who entered the $215 buy-in event created a prize pool of $36,000. The Hesse took the top prize, which paid just under $10,000. A Team Bodog regular, alcarmo, made the final table in the first two championship events, finishing in sixth and ninth, respectively.
StonecoldMS was the winner of championship event No. 3, a $270 buy-in no-limit hold’em event. He defeated a field of 188 players to win almost $21,000 for first.
The latest event to end was the $33 buy-in turbo bounty tournament. There were 316 entrants, but Bazeman outlasted them all for a payday of $3,750.
There are still plenty of events to compete in. The following is the remaining BPO II schedule.
